There was only one person who did not come across friendly-- that was the hostess at dinner. She acted like she didn't really want to be there. But everyone else was wonderful and friendly.

The breakfast was great! Probably our favorite meal.. the service was polite and efficient .. Overall everything was fabulous during our one night stay-- Thank you

The bed could be more comfortable. Sliding door didn’t lock. Walls are paper thin and can hear guests in adjacent room.

The breakfast was amazing especially being that it was included. We also had dinner the night before which was excellent.

The trade off of getting the fantastic views is it can be difficult to get get a taxi. I found the taxi drivers are not particularly fond of driving up the elevation especially when the number of people in your party is three or less. I would say the average price to get anywhere from the Mafolie is about $10 one way, $15 to/from the airport.

The view of the harbor and the island is phenomenal from the Mafolie. Whether it is morning, day or night the overlook makes this one of the best hotels on the island. The complimentary breakfast from the hotel restaurant is way better than I expected. It is a hot to order meal that leaves you satisfied well into the afternoon of you taking in the views and sun on St. Thomas.

The tiles on the walkway are uneven, which aren't safe, and it would be nice to have someone take our bags to the rooms since there is no elevator.

The staff was amazing; it felt like I was with family,and the view was priceless. The chef went above and beyond to make sure I had vegan meals. Elaes at the front desk was great; she always made sure that as women, we were safe. When we go out, she always sends a taxi to bring us back to the hotel safely; we really love her. They made my birthday amazing. We will always stay at Mafolie!

Not any fault of the hotel, but the location necessitates taking a taxi literally anywhere. No sidewalks up on that hilltop.

Location was unbeatable. They kindly let me work by the pool after checkout. Very accommodating. Views were literally unbelievable.

This is a beautiful historic hotel in an incredible location. It does not compare at all with the fancy chain hotels like the Ritz or Westin - has incredible local charm and history!!! You have to appreciate this, not be looking for typical hotel facilities. the pool, bar , dining room and rooms have one of the most beautiful views anywhere in the Caribbean!!! I've been to Santorini, one of the most beautiful Greek islands, and the view here rivals it. It has recently been bought by new owners who are planning upgrades (things like wiring and artwork in the rooms would be appreciated) But the overall experience is fantastic even before upgrades!!! Staff are great!

Would be nice to have a phone in the room to be able to call the front desk. A shuttle would be a real boon too - expect to pay at least $20 to take a taxi from the airport with two people.

The Mafolie is a beautiful little hotel clinging to the mountain slopes of St. Thomas. My wife and I went here for our honeymoon, and the view simply blew us away. Our room looked right out onto the bay and Charlotte Amalie, and was beyond stunning. As for the room itself, it was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, if a little small. Staff here is friendly and helpful, and the pool is a nice touch. Also of note is the restaurant, which shares the hotel's expansive view of the bay and the Caribbean. The food is expensive, but extremely good - worth the price. A wonderful place for a honeymoon.

Its in need of little upgrades in some details like the shower needs to be replaced and the bathroom door was a little hard to close. But everything else was great.

Great hospitality from the front desk! She went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests and made our short stay in St. Thomas so much more enjoyable. We would definitely stay again at Mafolie on our next stay in St. Thomas!

Our check in process was dismal. Traveling with a 94 year old, and anxious to get him settled, it was an empty hotel at arrival and no one answered our calls for assistance. The customer service, once located, was openly hostile and actually yelling at me. I come from a tourism background, and worked in the service industry. This is a cardinal sin for treating guests. It was terribly upsetting and disappointing.

A quaint property, well worn around the edges, but stunning views and a very good restaurant.
