You are taken back and feels like you are in a different world! The food was amazing. They clearly take pride in their food here! The rooms were super clean! I used to clean 5 Star rooms in college--so I have an eye for this! Rooms were also super cozy with the cutest view of the river! Also, they are the perfect size--and on the bigger side for space. The staff seemed family oriented --super nice and went above and beyond for us! I have never experienced such hospitality.

Breakfast was fabulous.

Lovely cottage at Waterhouses, in a good position for visiting the peak district. Will come back in Summer for cycling and hiking. The cottage is well equipped with a separate kitchen. Very friendly hosts who gave us the keys in person despite our late arrival. Thank you for the nice stay.

At the bed and breakfast, the rooms have a wardrobe and a flat-screen TV. Each room has a private bathroom, while selected rooms also feature a balcony. All units at Bretton Cottage are equipped with a seating area. The location was beautiful, the room and facilities excellent and Andrew the host friendly and informative about local places of interest. Breakfast was outstanding.

Natural beauty can be found close by in The Peak District National Park and in the traditional Yorkshire villages and countryside which surrounds Lyndene.

Many guests enjoy visiting Cannon Hall Farm, The Penistone Paramount Cinema and The Yorkshire Sculpture Park during their stay. Paul and Sophie are the best hosts you can wish for. They are very friendly, helpful and interested. They suggested some nice hikes and walks in the area and offered all kinds of help.

Each modern apartment features free WiFi, a fitted kitchen with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven, toaster, microwave and Tassimo coffee machine. It also includes a dining area, private bedroom(s), flat screen TV’s, lounge, private bathrooms, and sofa beds for additional guests. Towels and bed linen are provided. The property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including washing up liquid! It was very clean and modern. Tea, coffee and auger were also provided. The guidebook was very helpful for appliances in the app and the surrounding areas. The location is fantastic, central to everything and a stone’s throw to the local park. Note to other people staying - you can park around the edges of the Market Place all day without having to pay and display. The bike shop owner told us this the day we were leaving. I would definitely stay here again.

It’s comfy and homely.
