  • TOnat Caribe Hostel Review score: 10

“The house is on a quiet end of the road with beautiful nature around it. We've seen hummingbirds next to the hammocks and an aguti just nearby. The host is a very nice guy who showed us around and did everything that we feel comfortable. He did also cook great and we had a dinner night with playing domino too. Thank you for everything!”

  • “After dozens of Hilton-Marriott-type experiences, we wanted a more rustic (but clean) place that would capture the local spirit of Roatan. Las Rocas furnished that very well. Quiet location at the end of West Bay beach, but walkable to the noisy part. Lovely sunset views from the waterfront restaurant & bar. Ample (included) breakfast. Dinners served on picnic tables, but so tasty that we never went elsewhere. Bonus: free rides to an from the airport. We hope to go again next year and (very rare for us) repeat the whole thing. The Four Seasons can wait.”

“Very relaxed, very friendly and helpful staff!! Good communication. Nice breakfast options and restaurant!”

  • “Cabinas were nice and clean, comfortable beds and a very well equipped kitchen. Friendly owners and an excellent dive shop with very experienced divemasters Alex and Casey. Brst boat in Roatan, fair dive prices and you will get a full 60 minute dive unlike other places in Roatan where they pull you out of the water after 45 minutes regardless of what is left in everyones tank. Right across from Half Moon brach for sunsets. All good, will return”

  • LOTO'S House Review score: 7

“Very good host. Very good location. Basic accommodation and may be too hot for me with the fan. I was trying to sleep outside of the room which would be much nicer with the breeze.”

  • Airport Inn Roatan Review score: 3

“It is close to the airport and the ferry to Utila. The staff is very nice and they offer a 5$ ride to the ferry and the airport.”

  • Hotel Economica Review score: 8

“Nice cheap hotel near airport -Best was the location, near the airport. 1 block away, less then 5 min walk. A good gas station with a coffee shop, and a sub sandwich shop inside. A eating sitting area inside, and the gas station itself has a food counter with fries and fried chicken and hot dogs and nachos. The gas station has a good selection of items from all kinds of drinks/water/juice/soda/alcohol to different brands of chips and snacks, and house hold needs. 2 atms. Short 15 min walk to downtown coxen hole, or to lookout points to watch planes land. -The check in was fast, needed my passport and booking.com booking. paid cash. -I was in room 13, a standard room with Air conditioning. It was all i needed. A bed, desk, bathroom. it did have a TV but i didnt turn it on so cannot comment about it. AC was great, strong even though the windows do not close so cool air is always escaping. As soon as i arrived the lady went to turn it on, but i told her i was going out so we can leave it off, but it would have wasted so much electricity if it would have been on, because the windows dont close. There was 3 outlets in the room, one high at about head level near the bathroom door, one under the desk that worked too, and there was a extension cord to the corner table but it had no power. bathroom was basic, but worked. no hot or cold water, only water from tank on roof, was mostly warm at 9:30 am when i had a shower, was comfortable. soap and toilet paper provided. Bed was ok, a bit of a dip in the middle of the bed, but i dont think i noticed when sleeping. -The hotel has lots of decoration with shells and armadillo shells, and plants and bright colours. -There is almost always someone sitting in the doorway to greet you. They have a small snack bar to buy pop and snacks and water, and a small office. I was met by a lady who seemed in charge. There was also a younger lady worker there, and a man near the door.”

“I had a great week in this apartment. -They arraigned pickup from the airport for me. 20$ US taxi ride, about 20-30 min depending on traffic in coxen hole. Driver was on time and had mame tree sign. -When i arrived the staff member was there to carry my luggage. staff wear orange shirts that say staff. I paid the owners in US cash. -I was Queen studio #1. second floor above the shops, stairs to access. I think that floor is 3 queen studios. Then there is a few rooms or studios on the top floor, where the owner was too. And then there is a second building farther back in the property, with more rooms or apartments. I think also a few rooms on the ground floor behind the store. -The studio was great, everything i could need, and clean. Good AC unit. The balcony and hammock was a nice surprise. There is ALOT of wall outlets, so you could charge 20 devices at the same time if needed. TV has a full range of channels, in english, with special channels like national geographic and others, but picture quality is low, static. Bed was comfortable, big shower with hot water. 2 good quality towels. good lighting. Pretty quiet room, cannot hear much from outside. -Location is great, its right on half moon bay, walk across road to the beach. Restaurants all around. Dive and activity shops all around. A few grocery stores/markets in the area. The loud part of the strip is around the corner and not right outside. Sun set across the road. Half moon bay is great for snorkeling too, best beach in west end. -There is a stack of beach lounge chairs in the hotel entrance way, free to use, I think the staff guy was going to carry it for me, but i carried it myself, it is just across the road. -Staff are nice, the workers spoke spanish, but the owner speaks english. You can see the workers cleaning and cutting the grass and stuff during the day. Fast contact on booking and whatsapp - Check out you leave the key in the door.”
