Excellent Location, the building was connected with Yamagata JR station. Once we got off the Shinkansen and walked out of the station gate, it just lead straight to the hotel entrance with 1 minute short walk. So convenient! The room we received was the South tower which was relatively new. It's very neat and tidy. Within a small stroll, you can reach many restaurants and bars around the station. Highly recommend!

The dinner was superb, with a variety of delicate Japanese dishes and grill beef. The famous beef was so tender and delicious. We were so full and the staff offered us take-away dessert that we could enjoy later in our room. Free shuttle bus service from Yamagata JR Station to the hotel could be reserved in advance. Great service!

The friendliness of the staff at Metropolitan Yamagata was the most memorable part of our one-night stay there. But the lobby and rooms were beautiful and more spacious than many other hotels we stayed it in northern Japan. The location can't be beat. If we return to Yamagata we would stay here again.
