Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing, everything was great. We have stayed at a few resorts in Vanuatu and turtle bay is one of the best for location, facilities and helpful staff.
We loved our stay at turtle bay, Vicky and mick were lovely managers. They always checked in to see how we were going and what they could do to help book activities or offer recommendations. The food quality was fantastic, for an island that can have limited supplies they did a great job at providing a lot of menu options. The staff were all so friendly and you could tell they loved their job and were happy to be working at turtle bay.

AustraliaNot much to dislike, it might have been nice to have local island food available on the menu.... this next part is nothing to do with the hotel but there is no other restaurants or cafes walking distance. We also took the quadbike into town and there is also nothing to see and nowhere to eat in town and no other restaurants along the side of the road unless you go to another hotel/resort.
We stayed in the marquee (it was like glamping). We looked out onto the bay, best view to wake up to every morning. Vicky, Mick and the team were amazing. The room was modern and Clean with good functioning aircon. The bed was comfortable. The continental breakfast included consisted of fresh tropical fruit, toast and tea/coffee. The restaurant food was fresh and good quality and the chief is amazing. We did a day of diving through the hotel, gear was clean, new and functioning well. We also hired a quad bike to see the sights.

AustraliaRestuarant menu was unchanging and became tedious as well as quality was very average. Think sett times for lunch and dinner and a changing menu could be helpful for quality and variety. Have local food options.
Lots of nice spaces to relax in the shade (lounges/hammocks). Different areas to relax in.

AustraliaI struggled with the heat and no air con in the ocean front double rooms was hard with nil breeze coming through at all. It was a cold shower before bed then fan at full speed to be able to sleep.
The location was absolutely beautiful, ocean front, private tropical Oasis. Staff were just wonderful, felt like part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble, activities were as much or little as you wanted.

Easy to get to some of the best sites on Santos. Loved the quad bike hire. Get on a quad bike and head up for Champagne beach. You won’t be disappointed.

AustraliaNo dislikes.
Location was perfect. Mick & Vicky and their staff were perfect hosts, nothing was a problem. We stayed in a Deluxe Marquee, glamping at its best. Just like a hotel room but made of canvas. Ensuite bathroom, fridge, shelves for clothes and air con, perfect. The restaurant was great and catered for everyone, the food was cooked perfect every meal for all 6 days here. A good choice for breakfast. Snorkeling straight off the beach. Dive shop if you wanted to go deeper. Kayaks for exploring other nearby islands. Car and quad bike hire. Swimming pool was clean and had a smaller section for kids. Go visit Turtle Bay Lodge, you will not be disappointed.

GermanyThat we ended up spending more on food/drinks than planned - not because it was more expensive than we thought (prices are totally fine here, not overpriced if you keep in mind, that food in general is expensive on the south pacific islands), but because the food was so good, that we ate a LOT. :D
Everything. Excellent service, in every way very well managed place with great eye for details and an atmosphere that makes it hard to leave. Our room was so comfy, cleaner than clean and beautifully decorated and furnished. The whole lodge is beautiful with lots of cozy places to relax. Restaurant for breakfast and dinner was great, everything we had during our 4 days was super delicious (also lots of yummy vegetarian options). There is no real beach but easy water access and lots of hammocks, chairs, lounges and sunbeds right by the sea overlooking beautiful turtle bay. Location was also a huge plus for us. Not too far from champagne beach, close to the blue holes and not too far from Luganville and the airport either. Having a rental car was great for us, but the lodge offers lots of tours, so it’s not a must have here. Finally the staff was just amazing, from housekeeping to restaurant/reception staff or the management itself - everyone was so friendly, helpful and did just a great job. This was not the most expensive place we stayed in in the south pacific region but by far the best so far. One of our favorite spots ever (and we do travel a lot all over the globe). Highly recommend!

AustraliaHad to check out early due to cyclone but no refund. Had to wait over an hour to check-in as staff told us the manager had been using our room and had gone out for the day so staff couldn't clean it and then he lied when we spoke to him and told us there was a water leak issue. Expensive and so are meals and drinks.
Beautifully presented romantic and tropical holiday destination. Great location to explore Santo - make sure you get a hire car from somewhere.
