Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNo wifi or aircon in rooms Gets bright very early. Ferry only runs a few times a day so felt rushed to be back by certain times. Had a very bad massage there that was extremely overpriced.
Food was delicious! The island is beautiful. You can spend all day snorkeling there and constantly see new fish Its a beautiful spot and amazing island. Staff were lovely people.

AustraliaOvernight it was very hot (came in April) and we struggled with sleeping because of this despite the fans above beds. Prices of everything in Vanuatu for tourists are very expensive. A whole day trip with a car would be 500 AUD$ for 4 people hence our one week bill for food and activities was AUD$3000. Food is also overpriced noting that the salaries of staff are around 20-30$ per day. Similarly, diving was around 400$ per person for 2 dives (one morning). Some of it is related to import taxes but I think some of it is just because people can charge a lot as there is not much choice. This is not limited to the resort but to Vanuatu. It is important to be aware of this as we spend 6000$ for activities and food and another 4000$ for 8 nights of accommodation. So if you are in for a cheap holidays, Vanuatu is probably not it. But it was all worth it (provided you can pay for it).
It is a beautiful resort. It is on a separate island from Santo and because we booked via booking.com and not directly, we had to pay for transport from the airport which is provided for free if you book directly (so book directly). There is a boat going back and forth from Santo 4 times a day so you need to be organised. Staff was amazing. The food was also great (lobser, crab, Santo beef but also other meals). The houses are lovely and comfortable. Snorkelling in front of the resort is nice too. You are provided with snorkels and reef shoes. The owners are very nice and friendly, always trying to help. Great diving is available from the dive shop next to the resort. They also have mountain bikes available at the resort and pool. The gardens are the resort are amazing. You do feel like landed in paradise.

AustraliaThere is no Aircon anywhere on the Island. This made sleeping very difficult due to the high humidity and temperatures. Wify was only available in the restaurant area, it would have been nice to have the option in the Bungalows as-well. There was no decent coffee - mainly instant. There was only one kind of tea available. Would have been nice to have a few different options. The pool was beautiful but completely open to the sun so it gets really warm like a bath - definitely not refreshing. A shade sail would make a difference.
The staff were amazing and always willing to help where they could. The food was always fresh and changed daily depending on availability. There were plenty of tours available to visit local attractions, all organised by the local staff. The Bungalows were clean and comfortable. Towels were changed every day and rooms were cleaned and made up. With the high humidity this was needed as everything stays damp very easily. The Bungalows were right on the water, stunning views and really convenient for regular swims. Paddle Boards and Kayaks are free. The resort has entertainment some nights - string band, grass band, water dancers, Kava tasting, weaving, coconut milk making to name a few. We had a great time and will definitely be returning.

AustraliaThe food is terrific and especially when you consider that you are not exactly around the corner from the market. That said, I would probably like to see some simple/food offerings added to the menu… we stayed 9 nights and I found myself yearning for a simple salad or rice dish. Kids menu would benefit with the addition of burger and spaghetti options.
The resort is a tropical oasis filled with all the essentials so you can focus on kicking back, exploring, snorkelling bike riding… The owners and staff have hit on the right formula and we felt welcome and special throughout our stay

AustraliaCould not fault much would only say i didnt like the tolieries they supplied the liquid soap made your skin feel dry and they did not aupply any body creme which i thought unusual since u would need it after the harsh sun, we left ours thinking it would be supplied as most if not all other accomodation do..
A perfect little paradise island our villa was 5mt from the ocean the view facilities and room were excellent. The owner met us off the boat and came to the dock to say goodbye which made us feel special. The food... omg amazing, they had free canoe paddle boards, snorkles and bikes to use whilst on the island, we also had some water dance entertainment a real relaxing holiday. Our trip was cut short because of a cancelled flight but still managed to see the blue holes champayne beach million dollar point and olray beach. With a little cava experience as well. Not sure i recomend. :( lol . The snorkling was amazing too just under the deck not huge but enough to get your imagination wondering what else could be out there... thanks Aore Island we loved our stay. ❤️🐠🐚🦐🌴🥥🇻🇺 J&C W.

From the moment we were met at the airport to the personal farewell from the owners, our stay at Aore Island Resort could not be faulted in any way. The location is perfect paradise. The staff friendly and attentive. The food was excellent with a varied menu. Snorkelling in the clear waters directly outside our fare was exceptional.

AustraliaMore info in the room about what is around Aore island would be helpful. Breakfast could be better considering price - it's not free if you pay for it in the booking fee afterall. Grounds are well curated, which makes it picture perfect but at the cost of having lots of staff busy working around and raking coral off the beach daily, including around your otherwise private bungalow when you're trying to relax
Lovely venue, snorkelling was fab, staff were excellent, restaurant was great.

New ZealandBefore we arrived we did ask the resort questions on GF meals and we were sent the bill twice when I had already paid thru Booking.com. We did not receive an answer to any correspondence. Very poor communication as my friend who has celiac disease was disappointed there was not a lot of choice in the meals and the staff didn’t understand what gluten free meant. They tried their best to accommodate her.
Breakfast was lovely plenty of fruit and good choice of eggs etc and the pickup from the airport straight to the island at 7.30am was on time and our room was ready so that was fantastic.

We had an amazing time during our 5 night stay at Aore Island Resort. We booked a beach bungalow and could walk straight from our porch to the (coral) sea. Special compliments to the staff as the food was really tasty using local products (so many different ways to use coconut in dishes) and included for example lobster, lamb, ribs, sirloin steak and vegetarian pumpkin pasta. Also, the complementary evening entertainment was amazing (water dancers, kava tasting, local music & songs). Lastly, we also really enjoyed the free bikes to explore the island. Thanks a lot Lisa & Brad for sharing your beautiful Vanuatu paradise with us.
