Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkWe paid for breakfast. The breakfast was poor the first day. But day two was really bad. We really should have our money back. Only muslibar, muffin and coffee for breakfast. The staff sad, sorry we did not get any bread today ( frozen bagels) but the store was only 5 min. Walk from the hotel. He could just went there and bought bagels or whatever.. hotel is a good stay the breakfast is really bad even in US Virgin standards. For that money we could buy an ok breakfast in one of the cafes.
Good location, nice with a privat pool. Fantastic view from the balcony, we booked harbour view. Sweet staff. Loved the gardener.

AustraliaNo windows, thin walls (can hear neighbours). lobby was supposed to be open until 8pm, but no one was around by 7:30 when I was looking for that evening beer.
Location was handy to town centre, a few dollars less expensive than other options, staff was friendly, pool looked nice (but I didn't use it), laid back atmosphere.

United StatesWe are 2 couples in our 70s. One has breathing problems. We were unaware there were so many steps to the rooms. One had 84 steps, the other 97 steps. That's a long jaunt any time you leave and very difficult with luggage. We did have a nice young man help us with our luggage when we left. Just a note, the whole town is built on the side of a mountain, so steps are everywhere. I would suggest you read all the reviews before deciding where to stay in St. Thomas USVI
Very friendly staff. The rooms are dated but clean.

BermudaBreakfast was very basic. But for the price they don’t really need to include breakfast!
Rooms are dated, but very clean. There is a lovely relaxed vibe. Location couldn’t be better. WiFi is as consistent throughout my stay. Great views and easy walk to restaurants and shopping. The hill however is quite steep and access both to the property via pedestrian walk and around the property itself includes a LOT of stairs.

United StatesBe aware there are a LOT of stairs to climb to get to reception and they can be rather steep. I had a room that was converted from the portch with shared bath down the hall. Bathroom Shared with the dining area breakfast guests and other guest rooms. Also in close proximity to the diners. Fan didn’t work, light bulb’s needed to be screwed in to work. Sheets had some stains. Portch conversation to guest room was rough and the room I had was pure basic accommodation which was fine, just not fancy.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Very affordable. Located near shops (mostly cruise ship clientele) and restaurants. Grocery store w/in walking distance. Interisland ferry dock - walking distance. On a steep hillside with beautiful views. Dining patio / reception gets a cool breeze and affords a comfortable place to relax and hang out. Nice gardens and plants along the walkways. I really enjoyed my short stay at the Galleon House in St Thomas

United StatesThere were 99 stair steps to get to the top level, a bit much to carry luggage for an old guy like me.
Excellent location. Continental breakfast was good. View was awesome. Staff was very friendly. The pool was very nice.

United StatesThe multiple flights of stairs to get up to reception and more to our room. Not very convenient with all of your luggage. Our room needed updates. It was quite run down and there were small bugs flying everywhere. They provided a small breakfast in the reception area but when we arrived later there was no fruit available. We could not locate some one to help because they were usually at the pool cleaning (which always looked great)
There was a great view from our balcony. The pool area was kept up very nicely. There was a good restaurant available directly next door.

CanadaThere are too many stairs for some people. Breakfast consisted mostly of bagels. Providing some bread for toast would have made it much better, as well real milk for coffee.

US Virgin IslandsI just want to emphasize that this property is located high above the city. Please note, you will be carrying your luggage up approximately 3 flights of stairs. Not an issue for us but it may be to some!
Great location! Rooms were definitely dated but in a good way. Very clean, no issues at all! Great pool!😎

United StatesRoom was described as ‘no view’ which I took to mean no panoramic harbor view, ie maybe just garden or building view. But this was an interior room with no window at all! This should be described more accurately. Walls were paper thin, the tv in the next room sounded like it was coming from our wall.
Location near downtown, we could walk everywhere. (Be prepared for the many steps in the property) Nice terrace for breakfast and relaxing during the day, great view over the town and harbor. Front desk staff was kind and helpful.

United StatesI can't complain at the price and location of this hotel. If you're considering a stay, don't expect more than the pictures show you.
Great Location for visiting ST. Thomas for the first time. It was 101 steps down to the visitors center to get a taxi or safari bus for a $2 ride with the locals, and or a walk to a restaurant or the grocery store Moe's. The light breakfast and Coffee were enough to get started for the day before walking to Yacht Harbor for lunch. The pool was excellent as well as all the property's plants and hummingbirds. The office also sells beer singles at a fair price if you need one while sitting by the pool. And the View of the harbor to watch the Cruise ships come and go!

United StatesYou need to be aware of rustic...bath-down-the-hall accommodations. Clean but somewhat worn. Ceiling fan did not work and it would have been useful. A really good value if you don't mind "roughing it" a bit.
