Not cheap. The evening buffet could be better especially when you look at the rates.

Great staff, very helpful. I've got a free upgrade to a great chalet. Room was rustic, but comfortable. The resort is well integrated in the environment, great job. Very cozy restaurant.

The location is stunning and the staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, clean and well equipped. We stayed here to do the Balcony walk and that worked very well. Some of the previous reviews mention poor quality food - the food isn’t really fancy but it was all tasty and fresh. All the food has to be driven up winding steep roads for several hours so the variety isn’t going to be the same as you may get at hotels in more accessible locations.

The buffet food was more varied and higher quality than other hotels we had stayed at in Oman. Staff were friendly and helpful and the location was very easy to get to the Balcony Walk and sunset points. Whilst the last 20 km of road is unsealed - it is well prepared and can be driven with a 2WD with care and slowly.

The pool seems to be out of work for a longer time…we would have loved to use it after the hike. The food was reasonable, but not excellent - an improvement in quality would be good. It is a very nice resort, but sometimes you think that it needs better maintenance.

Nice hotel of the Sama Group far away in the Jebel Shams mountain area & in close distance to the Balcony walk (~15 min by car). We had our own house with a nice view towards the mountains, quite clean and well equipped. The stuff at the reception & the dining area was very friendly and service oriented. One can enjoy a nice sunset.

F&B could improve. Limited options and the coffee machine was broken in the morning, so a bit disappointed there wasn't coffee available.

The location was incredible, the service was outstanding and all the facilities were just amazing. We loved our stay and would choose it again if we were coming back.

The outside spacious terrace had only a small seating area, without any decoration elements or plants so it was not cosy. Mini-fridge stank terribly of fish. Food variety for breakfast and dinner could definitely be more.

Located in the beautiful are of Jabal Shams mountains. Spacious resort area, nice design with the use of natural local stone. Very nice view from the chalet where we stayed.

It was very windy, so the Sultan tent was very noisy, so couldn't sleep well. Food was good but lacked variety especially for vegetarians. Pool was not functioning. There was no fridge in the Sultan tent, so one of the staff members kept our stuff in his fridge near the reception area

We visit Jabel Akhdar on our usual adventure trips. This was our 4th stay with them. We love it for its simple and fit for purpose facilities which resonates well with the surroundings. For someone looking for a relaxed weekend, it won't disappoint as well. Good for young families too.
