breakfast - the portions are very small and I didn’t mention I was gluten free beforehand (my bad) but so couldn’t have any of the sweet options except fruits.

activities were very expensive. with the already high rate of the hotel the prices for activities once there should be adapted and lowered

focus on sustainability! reusable & refillable glass bottles for water as well as soaps / insect repellant / body lotion. cliff edge location with mesmerizing views and nature. menu of activities from adventurous to gastronomical and relaxing. spa experience & amenities were a 10/10

Nothing, this hotel was perfect.

My partner and I travel a lot and this hotel is definitely one of the best ones in the world. The view is unbelievable, and the facilities are extremely well designed and maintained. We will definitely stay again.

The food, quality and variety.

The only issue for our family was the food. There was only one restaurant with limited options and not always with good quality. Breakfast was the same every day, and the menu for lunch and dinner too.

Although many people are driven to the hotel the road was tricky in places and care needs to be made because it is steep and windy and in some places not in good repair - it is work in progress. The weather was surprisingly poor during my stay with a storm or two which exposed a lack of things to do if restricted to the hotel. This is very unusual for Oman though - I was just unlucky. Expect to pay more than typical for food and organised trips.

The views from Alila are really spectacular which makes it, in my view, one of the most desirable locations in Oman. Good for spending 2 or 3 days. The food was excellent with many choices at both breakfast and dinner. Staff were typically very helpful, but in particular I found Pamela and Latisha to be outstanding. The room and views from the room were absolutely stunning.

We coincided with Ramadan which had quite a big impact on the hotel such as only one restaurant open, the view was covered from the dining room during daylight hours and no food/drinks were served by the pool. Also the telescope was broken so we couldn't do star gazing.

The setting is incredible, can't think of a better view from a hotel room! Food was delicious and service very attentive.

there was never hot water available at the pool shower. For the morning meal we would have preferred buffet instead of breakfast served. 40% of the breakfast served was not to our taste.

Location is stunning. Staff is friendly. Houskeeper Vishal and Mehboob were very friendly and cleaned the room perfect (Room 14).

There was nothing we didn’t like.

We loved that the breakfast was al a carte, the home made touches like the almond chocolate spread were amazing, fantastic selections of fresh juices and a wonderful view. The staff are always so attentive and lovely to chat to in the morning. If you were too hot or cold they would move you or add a blanket. The French toast was the best thing I have ever eaten! Melted in my mouth!
