Very clean, room has good amount of space, the bath was big and beautiful. The room has big floor to ceiling window overlooking the city. The hotel was very close to the train station and restaurants, bars and convenience stores. The functional space were nice, clean and beautiful. It was very good value for money.

Directly connected to JR Yamagata Shinkansen (bullet train) Station, Hotel Metropolitan Yamagata offers comfortable guest rooms with warm colours and modern facilities. Excellent Location, the building was connected with Yamagata JR station. Once we got off the Shinkansen and walked out of the station gate, it just lead straight to the hotel entrance with 1 minute short walk. So convenient! The room we received was the South tower which was relatively new. It's very neat and tidy. Within a small stroll, you can reach many restaurants and bars around the station. Highly recommend!

Close to the JR Yamagata station. A Max Valu supermarket is also just right around the corner. Room is what you expect from standard Japanese business hotel. The TVs show you how busy the public bath is and if the washer and dryers are occupied. WiFi was also pretty good. Free breakfast was great. I read another review that said there wasn’t a lot of variety, but there was very good variety in my opinion for a free breakfast. Good mix of Japanese and Western items. It gets pretty busy, though.

The outside onsen was cosy, and they provided a common pantry for use; there were drinks, ice cream, and manga to enjoy. They even had a call service to call you to catch the shuttle bus. The place is also within walking distance to the ropeway. Overall, stay was beyond satisfaction.

But the lobby and rooms were beautiful and more spacious than many other hotels we stayed it in northern Japan. The location can't be beat. If we return to Yamagata we would stay here again.

Great location right beside the station, there's even a covered walkway straight to the building. The view is fantastic, I think this is the tallest building in Yamagata and the hotel is located at the top. There's also a Family Mart and a cinema in the building
