This is the beach closest to where we stayed and it more than met our expectations. It was wonderful. We could have stayed there all day from sunrise to sunset. Just spectacular. Beautiful sunsets. Lovely holiday atmosphere. Nothing can compare.

You're unable to see the beach from the street due to the extensive buildup of hotels. But you can walk through the hotels to get to it eventually. Kaulakaula Avenue is similar to Rodeo Drive in LA. The "mom & pop" shops on the side streets are closed. If you don't have a microwave, refrigerator or kitchenette you'll be paying "big bucks" for your food. There's a Safeway Grocery store for your food needs near to Waikiki beach. Traffic in the Beach area is heavy. If you don't have a map there are volunteers throughout the area who can direct you. I recommend the Ilima Hotel for your stay. It's 2 blocks away from the beach, reasonable, has limited free parking, 10 minutes from Safeway, and easy access to the H1.

A very beautiful beach, very relaxing, very scenic, boat docs and marinas, parks, nature trails, beautiful white sand, safe and enjoyable. They have luaus at various hotels along the beach and for a reasonable fee you can go to one, but we did not. The water is crystal clear and a beautiful tropical blue green tint appearance to it. This beach is a great place to go to relax and enjoy the scenery.

The beautiful pictures you see of Waikiki are private beach...
The beautiful pictures you see of Waikiki are private beach areas only accessed if staying at the serious expensive top end hotels. Otherwise the strip of sand is so narrow you sit on the grass at the foot path, as sand is only a few feet when tide in or out ! Street people everywhere!

Loved Waikiki - Be aware that the beach area is very shallow so you can walk out a LONG way. The sea bed is mostly volcanic so can be sharp and rough - a pair of beach/aqua shoes is strongly recommended.

staff, location, bed - all were great
very helpful staff, or the policies allowed the staff to be helpful
one block from waikiki beach, although it was a noisy area. there seem to be quite a few hoons in very loud cars and motor bikes delighting in revving them up, or playing VERY loud music
one thing to add - not about the hotel - the area is very carnivore oriented, very little available for the vegetarian, and for any vegans I would say it was much worse.
Our room was very comfortable with a great view. It's at the far end of Waikiki Beach near the zoo, but easy walking distance to everything . The little store in the hotel was quite handy!
The price is fair compared with other big hotels near Waikiki beach; the room space is wide (I think I used a free upgrade); there is a mini kitchen, which should be nice if someone wants to do simple cooking.
I liked the smell of the hotel and the breeze. The Ac had good breeze for hot weather. The location wad awesome. It’s near ABC stores, Waikiki beach, and many more.
Hotel was perfectly located within the Waikiki Beach area only a short 1-minute walk to the beach and within walking distance of all major Waikiki area attraction to include all restaurants, other hotels, stores, mall, and the zoo. The daily breakfast buffet was exceptional in terms of the hot options, bread, fruit, and juice/milk options. Additionally, when considering the other local hotels charged up to $40 for a breakfast meal, the amount paid for lodging (which includes the daily breakfast buffet) was quite the value.
The hotel is near to Waikiki Beach and Honolulu Zoo. The room is huge and the bed is very comfortable. The valet parking is also good value for money and convenient since the Hawai'i parking charges are expensive (1 day is around $47 for 24hours). There is regular housekeeping daily.
Honest hotel at a great location in Waikiki beach (5 min walking). Staff were all very good. Lots of stores, and restaurants at a walking distance. Wifi was also good. Free towels available for the pool and to take to the beach were great! There's also convenience store at the first floor. We got the partial ocean view apartment and it has a nice balcony/view!
Everybody knows the Waikiki Beach area of Honolulu is very overpriced & unnecessarily so. This hotel is by no means cheap for a stay per night but is the best value for money in that area & the staff are excellent. Add to that a free continental breakfast & how much more spending power staying at this hotel puts in your pocket for the vacation, it takes a bit of beating for Waikiki. It was a very pleasant stay. It is not a spectacular hotel, but very nice for the area & very well positioned for a stay in Waikiki.
