The West Lodge is ideally located just within the Scottish Borders and also has great access to North Northumberland. This newly refurbished, dog-friendly, cosy cottage has all of the amenities you would expect for a relaxing escape away. With river side walks just a stones throw away, a great dining pub within walking distance and many beaches to explore within 15 minutes drive, you will never be short of entertainment. The entrance porch as space for hanging coats and storing outdoor footwear. The main corridor runs almost the length of the building and leads to the kitchen and living space to the left and the bedrooms and bathroom to the right. The kitchen has a large fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, electric hob and oven with seating for four. The sitting room has a smart TV and DVD player, a great selection DVDs and also benefits from a wood burning stove. There is one bedroom with a kingsize bed and one bedroom with two single beds - all have feather duvets, Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels provided. Both bedrooms have in built wardrobes.The bathroom comprises a three piece suite with a rainfall style shower over the bath.

The cottage is located just outside the village of Paxton, about 5 miles west of Berwick-upon-Tweed. It makes the perfect spot to explore further into the Scottish Borders or down the Northumberland coast with easy access to Holy Island, Bamburgh and Seahouses. It’s also just a 45 minute train journey from Berwick to Edinburgh city centre. We are located within easy walking distance of Paxton House and it’s beautiful grounds and gardens, cafe and river side walks. Traditional net fishing still takes place on the banks of the river Tweed in the summer months. Please note, the lodge is located next to our working arable farm which will be a busy place during the summer harvesting months.
