Beds were really comfortable, room appeared to have been recently decorated, everything in good order. Space in the room was adequate if a little compact. The room was quieter than expected considering the hotel was at the side of a busy road, the usual door banging on a morning, but not excessive. Decent breakfast, good hot and cold buffet alongside specials to order, nicely decorated dining room.

The staff were wonderful. The room was large, clean and tidy. The full English breakfast was very good. The bar area had a relaxed ambience to it. Close to Carlisle Castle and Cathedral. Walking distance to shops (Asda, Pound shop etc), eateries (pub and, fish & chips) and car wash.

Dalston village is beautiful, but Carlisle Town, what we saw of it was uninspiring and unattractive.
Lots of road works , confusing road systems and busy. Not a bit like the other lake district towns.
Perhaps we hadn't seen the best of it to be fair.

Quite an underrated town.
Quite an underrated town. The castle and cathedral are very interesting, plenty of history to see. I like it most because you can quite easily travel to fantastic locations from all directions; Hadrian's wall & Newcastle to the East, Ribblehead & the Lake district to the South, the scenic Cumbrian coast to the West & the Historic Southern lowlands of Scotland to the North!

Convenience as a base to visit more of Cumbria.
Convenience as a base to visit more of Cumbria. If like me you don't drive its good to have a base with plenty of public transport to enable you to see a variety of places. Carlisle itself is easy to walk round, everything within walking distance.

I was only there for a quick one-night stop.
I was only there for a quick one-night stop. The weather was so bad in the evening that I did not venture far, but I found a decent fish-and-chip shop.
Got up early in the morning and went for a walk. I did like the city centre area, and especially the historic area.
Lovely period hotel with spacious rooms, an actual king-sized bed, and even a robe and slippers for each of us! The hotel is an easy walk from the train station, even dragging a heavy suitcase. It is very close to Carlisle Castle, the cathedral, and Tullie House Museum, and a very quick walk the other direction brings you into the modern town with lots of shops and restaurants. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!
Cheap and cheerful, I had a single room . Nice and clean bedding, obviously the place is dated but clean that all I need and some free biscuits. Stayed at lot more expensive hotels ( no biscuits there ) and some free shampoo etc . lady on reception was very nice at the cheek in .
Watch for your sat nav putting you into the premier inn over the road. Mine did .
The area where The Queens was situated could not have been better. Not too far away from Carlisle and just a short walk to a bus stop. The breakfast was as much or as little as we wanted. The room large enough with two very comfortable beds, and a good ensuite. The whole hotel had recently been decorated inside and out to a high standard.
The hotel is very close to the M6, A69 junction near Carlisle and is perfect for a stop over. The hotel is comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed on our way up for a holiday in Scotland and liked the hotel so much we did the same on our way back. Highly recommended.
It was central for carlisle. Shopping areas abit rundown. The room was easy to get to. The lift was very easy. The room was quite large and the beds were comfy.
The room was nice and warm.
The staff were lovely and helpful. Can't fault the team and hotel.
We'll be back.
The location of the hotel is very good, as it's in Carlisle City Centre, and also only a few minutes away from a large supermarket. There was also a very nice breakfast included in the price as well, which meant that the room was very good value for money.
I was upgraded to a 2 bed apt which was just lovely , very spacious and comfortable with complimentary drinks and breakfast items. Staff were very polite, courteous and helpful. Would strongly recommend the Halston Aparthotel Carlisle.
This hotel provided excellent, inexpensive accommodation in an undistinctive part of Carlisle. It was better value than posh hotels in the City centre. The breakfast was overwhelming and superbly cooked. There is ample car parking.
This boutique hotel was perfect - I cannot say enough good things! Perfect location for exploring Carlisle and Hadrians Wall. The location was peaceful, the hotel was very clean and cozy. The breakfast was delicious!
The staff was friendly and the room was large and clean! It smelled fresh when I walked in. I also definitely enjoyed the convenience of walking only a couple of minutes from the train station to get to the hotel.
The Victorian era building still has its values. Its basic for the needs of an over night stay. Staff supportive and friendly. I would book again for a night stop in Carlisle. Bar in the louge is a bonus
Staff were super, facilities exceptional and both food and drink very good. Have been searching for a quality Hotel close to Carlisle for a while, pleased to say we have found somewhere.
The Breakfast was lovely. I had to book my time the night before, but the staff were ready so my breakfast was fresh. The hotel surroundings are pretty and the facitlities clean
Pleasant, comfortable and warm hotel. Beds particularly comfortable. Good sized room. It is on the site of the Roman wall and remains. Really good breakfast. Helpful staff.
Lovely, well cared for historic property in a good location from which to explore Carlisle. Lovely hosts & great breakfast. We would definitely stay again.
