The staff were very friendly, approachable, and helpful. Love the decor, usually at places with this sort of decor they're not kept well but this place is lovely and clean. Beds are comfy and you have everything you need in the room and bathroom. We had breakfast included which was delicious. There was cereal, fruit, English breakfast and they ask if you'd like any toast when they take you to your table. Plenty of staff about and the tables were laid really nicely. My mum and auntie used the swimming pool which they enjoyed as it was apparently really warm and the jacuzzi very hot. When leaving we wanted to do a little more around Carlisle and they let us leave the car in the car park. The location is perfectly in the middle of everything, the lovely cathedral practically next door, the castle is down the road and all the shops on your doorstep! 10/10 would stay again, thank you!

Quite an underrated town.
Quite an underrated town. The castle and cathedral are very interesting, plenty of history to see. I like it most because you can quite easily travel to fantastic locations from all directions; Hadrian's wall & Newcastle to the East, Ribblehead & the Lake district to the South, the scenic Cumbrian coast to the West & the Historic Southern lowlands of Scotland to the North!Dominic - 10Scored 10

Carlisle is so full of history I love the buildings eg the Cathedral, the Castle, the Citadel which is going to transformed into a university campus. The little streets are very interesting could have spent more time exploring.

Convenience as a base to visit more of Cumbria. If like me you don't drive its good to have a base with plenty of public transport to enable you to see a variety of places. Carlisle itself is easy to walk round, everything within walking distance.

I love Carlisle!
I love Carlisle! It’s a great town with good shopping, history and nightlife The bars and restaurants are wonderful and it’s very friendly There is plenty of parking, it’s compact and interesting My favourites are The Thin White Duke for drinks/food and Bocata bar for live music, atmosphere and great drinks

I was only there for a quick one-night stop. The weather was so bad in the evening that I did not venture far, but I found a decent fish-and-chip shop. Got up early in the morning and went for a walk. I did like the city centre area, and especially the historic area.

The city centre is ok, it does have some lovely old pubs away from the two Wetherspoons, however you have to go looking for them down some of the side street (try around the church in the city centre and behind the shops for a few). Some nice restaurants apparently but we didn't try them. Outside of the centre nice parks.DavidUnited Kingdom

It had a nice kitchen, the living room was a good size and the bedrooms had comfy beds and the rooms themselves were very roomy. There is a Sainsbury 5 minutes away which was convenient and the castle was a 10 minute walk. Overall, i would highly recommend this property and would stay here again if I'm ever in Carlisle.Michael S.United States
