view for Kyoto Kaede Hotel Kamogawa
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kyoto Kaede Hotel Kamogawa, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From start to finish, the hotel staff demonstrated reactive, professional, and friendly communication that truly stood out.
1. Communication: Top-Notch Service
The staff’s responsiveness was impressive. Whether it was answering my inquiries before arrival or assisting with any requests during my stay, they were always prompt and courteous. Their attention to detail made me feel valued as a guest.
2. Ideal Location
The hotel’s location is a gem. Situated near the serene Kamogawa River, it offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city. Yet, it’s within easy reach of major attractions like Gion and Kiyomizu Temple. Exploring Kyoto was a breeze thanks to this strategic spot.
3. Tranquil Ambiance
Upon entering the hotel, I was greeted by a sense of calm. The minimalist design, soothing color palette, and soft lighting created an oasis of tranquility. It was the perfect escape after a day of sightseeing.
4. Impeccable Rooms
My room was spacious, elegantly furnished, and impeccably clean. The comfortable bed ensured a restful night’s sleep, and the view of the nearby cherry blossoms added to the charm. The attention to cleanliness was evident throughout the property.
In summary, the Kyoto Kaede Hotel Kamogawa exceeded my expectations. If you’re seeking a blend of attentive service, a prime location, and serene surroundings, look no further. I highly recommend this hotel for your next Kyoto visit.

We love our stay at the Kamo River J-House so much. The house is very clean, the kitchen is very spacious, bedrooms and beds are all super comfortable. Location and facilities are exceptional. The house is located in a quiet area but close to many major tourist attractions. We love the fact that they have bikes for us to borrow so we could bike along the river just across the house - such a great and joyful memories. The owners were extremely helpful and very responsive. In short, we had the best place to stay in Kyoto...so thank you very much! We can't wait to come back to the J-House again.

The hotel is in a fantastic location to explore Kyoto. Close to the Yasaka shrine complex and Gion district, with a beautiful sakura tree's by the river just behind the hotel. Also it it located just next to a main shopping district, meaning you get the best of both sides of Kyoto, the modern and historic, perfect!
The hotel was beautifully presented and despite our room being a modern I suppose "western" style, it had that old Japanese charm of tatami mat flooring, shoji door to expose the window and a matcha tea set, which we loved!
The staff were very friendly and spoke a great level of English which helped us out as out Japanese is a bit rusty! Downstairs there was a relaxing communal room where you could help your self to hot and cold drinks which was nice to see. You could also help yourself to any extra toiletries you wanted including some lovely luxury goods, which was a nice touch!
The hotel also offers a small museum exhibit near the front door explaining the history of the site on where the hotel sits.
The Italian restaurant in the basement was a lovely end to one of our days too, a nice relaxing atmosphere to unwind after a day of walking thousands of steps!
