Loved the private onsen with the view of the shrine. The hotel was very grand and our room with the view was so spacious and pretty. The restaurant staff were lovely. and the food delicious although mostly seafood which i didnt mind.. The shuttle to the town was handy also.We has tea and red bean snack in our room (provided) which was nice. Relaxing stay in a grand hotel.

Great traditional room - probably bigger than some of the other rooms we had travelling over the month. Fantastic island to stay at and it was great to experience a local stay. Breakfast was very basic but also very cheap if you wanted something when you woke up. While the bathroom was small the shower had good pressure which we weren't expecting. Awesome area to stay in so many walks to do, while it rained both days we really enjoyed our time. You get to see the port from your bedroom window which was lovely. Make sure you try the street Curry Oyster buns - Amazing!!!

I don’t think we quite got full use of the guest house, as we sadly only stayed for one night, but it was a really lovely spot with good facilities.
The shared shower and toilets were clean and convenient, and had all the essentials we needed including body wash, shampoo and hairdryer.
We didn’t get to use it as it was booked, but the traditional bath on the first floor looked fabulous.
The team checking us in were really welcoming and helpful, and gave us a tour of the guest house.
We also really enjoyed the traditional futon sleeping arrangements, and woke up feeling refreshed.

There is nothing I could fault about this resort. We even had private shuttle taking us to train terminal
On average, 3-star hotels in Miyajima cost £178 per night, and 4-star hotels in Miyajima are £253 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Miyajima can on average be found for £430 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3.
We only stayed one night, but I wish we stayed 2-3. I left feeling like I only scratched the surface. Beautiful and peaceful place to unwind, especially after visiting the Peace Park Museum in Hiroshima.

It is a magic island where I would spend at least a couple of full days by sleeping in an authentic hotel with futon beds. If you can, i recommend to do the hiking of the main mountain (not difficult at all)

If you are an elderly Japanese teetotaller who likes simple food, an onsen and beautiful views this is the place for you!
If however, you also like your hotel to be multi generational, with a nice bar, good food and a welcoming atmosphere, this is definitely not the hotel for you.

We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer.
We stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. We took one whole day climbing the mountain, which was great but time consuming, so we ended up not seeing everything on our list. Keep in mind that the restaurants and bars close by 7 or 8 pm because all of the tourists leave the island around 5:30 pm. You really get to enjoy the beautiful island in peace and quiet in the morning and evening before the boats of tourists arrive. It was our favorite place we visited in Japan!

Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape!
Miyajima Villa was the perfect escape! Friendly, professional staff assisted us to get settled, offering umbrellas for the rain, assistance on getting around the Island, etc. The hotel even offers Onsen clothing and many other amenities for their guests! The hotel is conveniently located just steps from the ferry dock and the main streets to see the Tori Gate or the Itsukushima Shrine, the aquarium, to get to the Ropeway, trinket stores, ice cream stations, and so on. Our ocean room view had 2 oversized very comfy twin beds, a small couch, & desk. Loved the Toto Washlet in the toilet room! The bathtub while small was perfect for soaking after 5 hours of hiking. Lots of soft water and water pressure. The onsen (public bath) was just pure Heaven! :-) Sitting in the enclosed area in back of the hotel is just more of the escape and so worthwhile! :-)
Thankfully there was food available in the hotel (bakery, dinner, breakfast) because ALL food service in town STOPS AT 4:30pm! At least, it did while we were there. Our breakfast with Miyajima Villa was wonderful and very filling whether Japanese or American food.
High caution is advised if you plan to hike from the Ropeway, as we did. Trails are not well marked on all trails. However, the trail to the top of Mt Misen is well worthwhile! Hopefully, you are as fortunate as we were to see the Tori Gate at high & low tides as well as catching it at sunset, which brought out MANY PEOPLE. :-) :-) What a perfectly lovely island to spend some adventure time!

Beautiful island.
Beautiful island. Go early in the morning especialy if you want to climb the mountain. It's a pretty hard track, bu it's beautiful.
In the afthernoon it's to hot.
Lot of tourist in the afternoon and it's hard to have some dinner.
Stay there during the sunset: the shrine is beautiful!
Located in serene and quiet location on Miyajima! surrounded by lush forest. Rooms felt like traditional Japanese ryokan. Was clean and staff were friendly. There is shuttle bus that can pick you up from the Miyajima station (had to use the pay phone to contact them which was easy). Onsen is public but was not crowded. Close walk to Itsukushima shrine as well as cable car up to top of mountain.
This small hotel is literally right across from the ferry pier. We stayed in a corner room with a view of the street and the pier. It is a Japanese style room with futon bedding on the third floor of the building. The owner lives on the second floor. The ground floor is the restaurant. We like the Japanese feel. A decent 7 course home cooked meal is part of our package.
This Ryokan exceeded our expectations. The hosts and staff are wonderful and very friendly. We stayed 3 nights and wish we had the time to spend a few more days. The location is in the center area of the village with only a couple of minute walk to most restaurants and main historic sites. We look forward to staying at Ryoso Kawaguchi again on our next trip to Miyajima.
Fantastic in-room pre-fixe Kaiseki dining. The wait staff is beautifully courteous and attentive. The grounds are nice with an affronting beach area. The public baths are small, but serviceable. If you have ever experienced to a true Ryokan/Onsen house, this is more of a nice hotel with ryokan experience included. The breakfast downstairs was fantastic!
Perfect location, 5 min by foot from the ferry terminal in Miyajima and 5 min from the famous shrine. The staff was very nice. We got a Japanese-sttle room with tatami, tea table, cute kimono pyjamas and a small private bathroom. The view was great on both the seaside and mountain, though we had booked only a mountain view. There's also a public bath.
Hosts are very hospitable and offered to get me from station and take me there after check-out as it is a little bit over 1km from station. You basically stay with the hosts and other guests and share the same kitchen area and bathroom. It’s in a great location if you are planning to take a ferry to Miyajima island.
The staff at Miyajima Seaside Hotel are incredible, starting from the very first moment we were picked up in the shuttle bus at the ferry port. The rooms are exactly like the pictures and very comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast included and it did not disappoint. Overall a great experience we would recommend.
Location - right across the road from the ferries to/from Miyajimaguchi and Hiroshima Peace Park; very convenient for island sightseeing esp in the evening. Very generous dinner and breakfast buffets, excellent selection and quality. Friendly bar with happy hour. Public hot bath on the top floor was great.
The owner is very nice. He gave tips about the island & places to eat, and was always helpful.
The room was Japanese style looking out over the small village, shrines and ocean.
The location of the guesthouse is in a quiet area away from the main tourist zone, but still very easy to reach.
The staffs were very friendly, and the location was excellent. I would recommend it to those who enjoy speaking with the staffs but not really to those who like to be left alone. You can also ask the staffs about where to visit in the island. And the hotel cat Miku was really cute!!!!
Absolutely gorgeous self contained villa. Comfortable bed, good shower, lovely outdoor bath. Well stocked self service bar. Simple check in at the ryokan down the hill - friendly service, a great dinner and a good breakfast. Just lovely. I would love to stay here for a week or more.
The hotel is very well located to have a relaxed stay in Miyajima. The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff was very helpful and attentive. I did not have any meal there so I have no opinion about their food options. The free shuttle bus to the ferry is very convenient.
Location was perfect for a day trip over to Miyajima island, we left our cases with reception in the morning and they delivered them to the room ready for us when we went back in the evening.
Breakfast was complimentary and there was a good variety of food available.
Room was spacious and very clean with a beautiful view from the balcony. The private onsen was an absolute dream with views looking over to Miyajima Island. Free shuttle bus from the train station and a perfect location for visiting Miyajima Island.
I loved the location. This place is right next to the giant tori gate and has an in house bath. Absolutely loved the stay and for a great price. There are deer on the island as you step out of the hotel. WONDERFUL stay.
Location in terms of Miyajima island and the ferry was very convenient: an easy 10-15 minute walk to the ferry. Make sure you get a room facing the island, as the sunrise is stunning if you have the good view.
This is an old traditional hotel with public bath, the place is a little bit remote but very peaceful.
The staff is welcoming, smilling and helpfull.
I have had a great stay in Miyajima .
Was located in quiet area of the island. Very friendly staff and was a fun experience staying in a ryokan and experiencing traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast.
