I recently had the pleasure of staying at this excellent hotel, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel right at home. Their exceptional hospitality truly enhanced my overall experience. One of the highlights of my stay was undoubtedly the dinner and breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. The culinary delights served were simply outstanding. Every dish was meticulously prepared, bursting with flavors that tantalized my taste buds. The chefs showcased their expertise by creating a diverse menu that catered to various palates. Whether it was the succulent grilled meats, the fresh seafood, or the delectable vegetarian options, each plate was a work of art. The dinner experience was truly memorable, with an elegant ambiance and attentive service that added to the overall charm. The restaurant staff were knowledgeable, providing insightful recommendations and ensuring that every detail of my dining experience was taken care of. Their professionalism and passion for culinary excellence were evident in every interaction. The breakfast spread was equally impressive, offering a wide array of options to suit all preferences. From a sumptuous continental selection to a delightful assortment of local delicacies, there was something to satisfy every craving. I particularly enjoyed the freshly baked pastries and the made-to-order omelettes. The quality and freshness of the ingredients used were top-notch, leaving me energized and ready to start my day. In addition to the exceptional dining experience, the hotel itself was a haven of comfort and tranquility. The rooms were elegantly furnished, providing a cozy retreat after a long day of exploring the city. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the plush bedding to the luxurious amenities.

Lovely traditional Japanese decor and spotlessly clean. Very relaxing onsen with a great range of product. The meals were incredible - ready yourself for a feast!

We stayed in a room with a private mineral bath. The room was as large as an apartment, with its own foyer, and areas that could be contained by beautiful screen doors. We loved the space, the views and the wonderful service, but especially the food and the ritual of having our own private dining space, which evidently goes with the ‘special’ rooms. This is a great place to unwind, leaving the rest of the world behind! Staff were beyond excellent! If the canal boat is running its a great excursion to take. Food was just superb.

Even though I had originally booked without meals, the staff set a place at dinner for everyone, including me, and I was only charged for what I participated in. Prices were reasonable and the experience was wonderful.

We absolutely loved the location- tucked up in the mountains in Ohara. So peaceful and quiet. Soaking in the hot springs looking at the overhanging Cherry Blossoms was a highlight. The food was also great, and huge portions.

Excellent hotel right by Lake Biwa. Booked last minute during off-season after a day hike along the lake. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus from JR Katata Station every half an hour. Gym is new and equipped enough for a quick workout, the sports facilities and public bath are located in an older wing but well-maintained. The Japanese style room with lake view was good. Meanwhile, the restaurant on the top floor with a near 360-degree view of Lake Biwa for breakfast was outstanding, together with a rich Japanese and Western buffet served by very attentive staff. Would definitely stay again!
