Hotel Plaza is set in the heart of Salerno, directly opposite the railway station, and close to the bus terminal and the pretty seafront promenade. A buffet breakfast is provided daily.

The location of the hotel is excellent. A 4 minute walk from the train station - literally across the main street from the station - and at the start of the pedestrian walkway with lots of shops etc. Breakfast was substantial and good. Definitely recommend if you are heading to Salerno.
Set on the Amalfi coast, this large hotel and wellness center enjoys panoramic sea views. Its contemporary rooms are 8 minutes' walk from Salerno Train Station, and 1.9 mi from the port.

The hotel exceeded my expectation: located literally right by the train station, minutes of walk to the ferry to the Amalfi Coast, rooms are very spacious, well maintained and spotless clean (can walk barefoot on the floor type of clean!), free breakfast is decent and very friendly staff (big thanks to Filomina who gave me the most beautifully displayed platter when I asked for a kettle to make tea, and Marika who made extra ham when I was almost late for breakfast). The only minor downside is that it doesn't have a lift so if you have luggage, better ask for a ground floor room although even female staff will offer to help you (thanks again Filomina).
Albergo Fiorenza is just 328 feet from the sea and its public and private beach areas. Each room comes with TV, private bathroom, and air conditioning. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

Albergo Del Centro Storico is in front of Salerno's Town Hall and near the Verdi Theater. The functional rooms offer LED TV, free Wi-Fi, and a balcony.

Lovely Lungomare with views of the mountains of the Sorrento...
Lovely Lungomare with views of the mountains of the Sorrento penisular. Railway station (from where you can travel to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum, Naples and many other places - local and further afield e.g. Rome or further south). Many buses operating all over the Salerno area and Amalfi Coast. Ferry terminal for travelling to Amalfi Coast towns and Capri.
Old Town with narrow streets thronging with shops, places to eat and drink. The Duomo with its magnificent Crypt, Villa Comunale park with the turtles, Castle Arrechi - a steep climb but a great castle and fabulous views.
Not a place for a beach holiday but I'd definitely recommend Salerno for exploring the Amalfi coast, Naples, Pompeii and the surrounding area without breaking the bank!

1 day in Salerno was too long.
1 day in Salerno was too long. There were a lot of homeless and sketchy people. It was like the Newark of Italy...filthy. It didn't even feel like we were in Italy until we got to the old part of town. But, we didn't feel safe here either.

Salerno is a great location for shopping, sightseeing.
Salerno is a great location for shopping, sightseeing. Easy travel to Pompei, Herculaneum by bus or train. The harbour trips give access to Amalfi (a great town but it has many hills), you can take a day trip to Capri, Positano by boat as they run regularly. Salerno has many good shops, bars, restaurants and the Old Town is worth going to see.
Everything in the apartment is wonderful and much beyond our expectation. The windows are large with much natural light coming. The room is very clean and stylish. The bed is extremely comfortable. The balcony is great with a table and two chairs that we enjoyed our breakfast there. Most importantly, the hosts are extremely helpful and hospitable, and they helped us park our car. The location cannot be better, since the housing is just at the central of the city. I cannot recommend it more. This is my best stay in south Italy.
Location : Right opposite to the Salerno Train Station. Just 2-3 mins walk from the station. Salerno Concordia is right at the back of the hotel. Just a 10 mins walk and you can catch your ferries/boats to Positano, Amalfi and other places. The promenade is right next to Salerno Concordia.
Rooms : Quite big with high ceilings. AC and Wi-Fi were good.
Breakfast : Pretty decent English Breakfast with enough options
The hotel is on a great location, on the main walking street where most of the people go out. Salerno is a very lively city. I booked the hotel not knowing anything about Salerno, but it turned out a great choice. The staff were all great and helpful. If you have a car, keep in mind there is no parking, so you can stop for 10 minutes in front of the hotel to unload only.
Actually precise description- AMAZING.
Everyting was perfect. Location, ecquipments, space, beds, but mostly Gerardo hospitality.
Juice, sweets, coffee. Gerardo help with car parking garage and gave a lot advice what to see, where to eat and provide many interesting historical information.
Highly recommend staying here if you are looking around Salerno.
Location of apartament is absolutly the best in town - close to garage, lungomare, ferry, shops, everything in 5-10 minutes walk. Mister who was checking us in was very helpful, gave us lot of advices about Salerno and kept contact during our stay and answered every question. If you're looking for apartament in Salerno - no way there is a better one :)
The Hotel is located across the street from the Salerno train station, but you really don't hear the trains. It is also a short walk to the Sea, Ferries and many restaurants. The breakfast was very good with many choices of pastries, yogurts, cold cuts, bread, eggs and coffee and juice. The room (1 single) was plenty big enough and very clean.
Very nice place to stay, central to Salerno central. 10 mins from train 🚆
Room was spotless everyday.
Stefania was really nice and very helpful.
One bad point ....... be wary of the lift. Its kinda old and broke down between floors 😆 enroute to catch a train lol
Overall though would recommend the hotel.
Very nice thematic B&B/mini-hotel. We had the Japan-room but the whole apartment was very nice. Shared living-room/breakfastroom was excellent and location wise you are in the centre of Salerno. Breakfast was excellent and served by a very nice 'nonna di casa' with home-baked cakes.
The hotel is well located, on the main walking street of Salerno and everything is nearby. Rooms are clean with good wifi, large TV and effective air-conditioning. Staff is polite and helpful. The building seems to be renovated by including the balconies in the room. Good breakfast.
The Manager was very nice to let us check in before the time schedule, so that we could timely make a trip to Amalfi. This property is located very close to the Salerno train station, walking for only about 3-4 minutes. We had a very comfortable stay in the city of Salerno.
I found it extremely nice to spend the night on a boat in the middle of the harbor. The waves lull you into the night and you have a wonderful view of Salerno.
Of course, a boat is not a hotel - but it's much cooler if you like being on the water.
This place was awesome. So affordable and yet so modern and luxurious. Everything looked new and trendy and it was extremely comfortable. The host was incredibly accommodating. Also, the first place we have stayed at in Italy that had proper AC.
Everything was perfect, comfortable, bright and wide rooms, 2 completes bathrooms, electronic curtains. Is the perfect place in Salerno. Our stay was the best in the south of Italy, we felt like local neighbors….
Staff was so kind.
Location is not good, because it is far away from Salerno centre station(2 station). But it’s good for me, so it’s quiet around the hotel.
And i was glad that there was champagne in refrigerator.
The best location in the historical center, very close to excellent pizzerias, nice bars and shops.
The room was quiet (not very common in Italy) and WiFi and AC worked perfectly.
Nice shower.
Hotel with large and clean rooms. The seafront rooms have a beautiful view of the Gulf of Salerno. Helpful and polite staff, tasty breakfasts. You can park your car in front of the building.
Amazing internet speed, never had better in all of Italy! Good location to explore the city. Close to the old town. Close to some excellent restaurants.
