Amazingly well-appointed and spacious house, no MDF in sight, good solid furniture and furnishings that you would source for your own house! Immaculately clean Kitchen with every gizmo and cooking item you could imagine. Welcomed with a bottle of chilled prosecco and box of chocolates. The house has 2 sitting rooms, televisions in every room, a huge one in the main living room. Appears to be newly renovated and to a high standard. Sarah, the hostess personally welcomed us and explained the amenities and other info. Highly recommend this property.

Plenty of choice for accommodation if you plan on staying over & reasonably priced. Lovely historal place with nice cafes & places to eat or drink. Car parking is free both short & long stay. Short stay you need to buy a pass/clock £1 from local shops or maybe included with your accommodation. We stayed Monday to Friday this year & previously Friday to Monday last year. Both places we stayed were comfy, high standard of cleanliness & was very impressed with both. So can recommend both Stow House & Strothers Guest House if you're planning to stay over for few nights. Also beach is not too far away & some lovely walks including the castle walls. If you enjoy fish n chips theres quite few chippies too. We tried Castlegate & really nice. There's also couple that do sit in & dine. There's also Haven caravan park a short walk away from town centre. Regular bus service around town centre & surrounding areas. Was quite quiet possibly being April when we visited this time. The market is on Wednesday & Saturdays which was also quiet but again this could be as its still probably low season.

Not how I remember it but it was forty years since I was there. Covid has shut down a lot of places so a bit of a ghost town but enjoyed walking around the walls which surround the town and reading all the information boards on the way. Crossing the bridge that spans the river tweed was a nice walk too. We had a meal in the amore restaurant which was really nice on our way back too the hotel we discovered a gem of a gift shop called grannies

It’s my home town, I grew up in Berwick and always love returning. The people are friendly, the architecture is great, it’s an ideal centre for walking, with a choice of countryside, sea views or river views. The high street looks a bit tired, but that’s in line with many town centres currently. There are still many independent shops and several restaurants supplying good food at a range of prices.

Centre a bit down on its luck like many towns these days.

Centre a bit down on its luck like many towns these days. But the walks around the old town and the walls are always splendid. Some interesting shops on Bridge Street - books, green produce, kitchen utensils.

The staff were brilliant! We have a young toddler and the waitress was so accommodating. We didn't realise there would be no shop open on the island so we were a bit stuck for supplies for our daughter but the waitress brought us up milk and sandwiches before bed and it really saved us, thank you! The hotel itself is fine, probably a bit over priced for what you get but to be fair, there are not many places open on the island and it is a nice place to stay while at Lindesfarne.

It was everything a chain hotel is not. Welcoming, quirky and very friendly. A real family home but quiet and very comfortable. The breakfast were a real treat with local gayer and home made jams. The Ginger was a favourite. The “secret room” was a delight and though the bathroom was small it was so clearly designed that it works and the shower was powerful and hot. We’ll definitely stay again when visiting Berwick.

My room was a little quirky as it was without a window that you could look out. However, it was clean and reasonably priced. The staff was very welcoming and accomodating. There was a secure place to store my bicycle. The hotel is very convenient if you are traveling by train and it is close to serveral good restaurants. Breakfast was good and cooked to order. I would stay here again.

The Nook is a comfortable and cosy place to stay. The hosts had added lovely little touches such as supplies so we could have a hot drink without needing to dash straight out to the supermarket, and toiletries in the bathroom. The Nook is close to the old bridge across the river and really handy for walking into Berwick-Upon-Tweed.

This hotel was perfect for our golf trip. The beds were extremely comfortable, place spotlessly clean and a good shower. Was also tea/coffee making facilities in room. Cooked breakfast in morning set us up for our days of golf. Staff were friendly and helpful, would definitely stay here again when in the area.

Nice cosy and comfortable rooms- next door to the rest of our party. All staff very friendly and obliging. Tasty breakfast and evening meal. Hotel in a central location in Berwick, near old wall, parks etc. On street parking good, with the permit. Good base for visiting Lindesfarne, Bamborough and St Abb's Head.

Berwick is a nice place with a lot of green spaces and some terrific defences of the old town which are largely intact. Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle are just down the road and there are miles of deserted sandy beaches. Pity it's the North Sea and not the Med... Hotel breakfast was good.

The location was perfect, parking for our car and a lovely walk over the bridge to Berwick. I loved watching the waves from our beautiful room with a super comfy bed, we had a great sleep every night. My husband also loved going for a swim every morning in the pool. We will be back.

The hotel location is great, right in the heart of Berwick, and the building is a landmark historic building. The staff were friendly and helpful, even when things weren't going well. The refurbished rooms were fine, even if not quite in the style you would expect for the building.

A lovely setting very close to the border between England Scotland. 5 mins to the costal path for those who like to walk and Berwick is a 10 minute drive. The staff are excellent, the food is very good and there plenty of veggie options. It is our go to place for weekends away.
