Beautiful hotel overlooking entire shangri la ancient city. Staff service is exceptional, especially Lhamo, Daisy Zhao and Dragon! They are very helpful and friendly and shared some tips about where to go, and gave free upgrade of my room (birthday treat). The room is very comfortable, and able to request for firmer pillows.

The location was superb; 1.4 km from Dukezong ancient city and a short walk to the White Pagoda Temple and the bus stop to take Bus 3 to Songzanlin Monastery. Service was exceptional. We arrived at the resort at about noon and was immediately checked-in without hesitation. A staff offered to walk us to the nearby bus stop. When we asked to delay our check-out to 12.30 p.m the reception staff replied "Oh, you can even check-out later if you wish" The lobby was beautiful.
Our Twin Room comes with 2 large beds and was so cozy.
The buffet breakfast was great and has a wide variety.

Shangri-La is a beautiful town, a little slice of Tibet in Yunnan. You can experience Tibetan architecture and culture without having to get a permit for Tibet proper. Unfortunately, the city is very high altitude. We got altitude sickness pretty badly and had to leave after one night. Next time I would bring some pills or allow enough time to adjust to the height before walking around.

Architecture is different from other places. Must visit to 松赞林寺 (Songzanlin Temple) and listen to what the guide explain to you in order to know more about the city and the culture of 藏族. Hopefully we have more than so that would be able to walk around 独克宗古城.

Shangri-La is plenty of mountains, animals, people, and lakes! I like to visit the mountains and life in Napa Lake. For traveling in Shangri-la you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the mountain. Also, the Tibetan temple is super awesome for visiting too!
This is a lovely place to stay in Shangri-la. It is very close to the old town. The hostess, I think her name was Mary, was so kind and helpful. She was very responsive to my messages on Booking.com, prior to my arrival. She organised a driver to collect me from the airport. Her cooked breakfast that I enjoyed each morning was very tasty. She fixed my health code on my phone, which would not work properly, at first. My room was very clean and comfortable. My room was upgraded and had a lovely view across to the old town. Highly recommended.
The place has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and authentic design. Very clean. The staff there was extremely helpful and friendly, they're always glad to recommend me things nearby. Also the territory is a bit away from the old town, not too far though, but it's more quiet there due to this fact. There is an option of renting a bike and going for a ride outside the city. Vivian showed me some of the best routes on the map. Will definitely choose this place again once I'm back to Shangri-La.
The best place to know the city of Shangri-la. The Jun family and staff are very kind and easy to get information about the city. The hostel is lovely and very comfortable. The shower is great, very warm for the cold days and always being clean. The night can sit around the wood stove, have tea and make new friends. Also has a diverse kitchen, I ordered some dishes with friends and it was all delicious! The location is also perfect, I did everything by walking.
Every now and then it happens that a place I visit is entirely colored by the host. This has been one such instance. Rose and her husband are wonderful, incredibly helpful people. The property is warm in more than one sense of the word. I stayed 5 nights in Lijiang and 2 nights in Shangri-La, but I should have stayed 5 nights in Shangri-La and 2 nights in Lijiang. I will be back for sure. My room was spotless. And not a sound to be heard.
Amazing hotel with all services and facilities. The rooms and the views are amazing in the heart of the Gorge. The food was delicious. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast. The family that runs the hotel is very nice. They were very kind and attentive with us. They helped us to arrange a nice hiking and helped us with the transfers to Shangri La and from Lijiang. We are very happy we stayed there.
The location was great, just a few steps from Ancient town and close to East gate, where I got dropped off from the bus (coming from Tiger leaping gorge - Tina's house). The staff were super friendly and help me a lot during my stay. I cannot speak Chinese so they helped me to plan and looked up how can visit different attractions in Shangri-La with great patience. The room was cosy and clean.
The Tibetan style room had a great feel to it. It was rustic and the room was very spacious. The shower had steaming hot water and the heated toilet was a nice treat! The bed way humongous and comfortable.
Even though the hotel is not right in the old town, it is a short walking distance to the old town. The ladies who prepare breakfast each morning are delightful.
Located in the old town, close to Dafo temple and easy to find foods around there but it quite far from the main road, if you have a luggage I recommend to grab a taxi to Shunshun snack and walking to the hotel using Apple Maps or you can called the owner to pick you up. The room was great and the hot water is working well, have a warmer on the bed.
This hotel is in the old city of Shangri-La and its location is great. Exploring the old town and its roads and shops is very easy from this hotel. Also, the hotel is less than 5-minute walk from the bus stop to the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery. The room was clean and basic for a few nights, but given the price one shouldn't expect more.
Mary is so friendly and helpful. She made the difference in our trip through Shangri-la, helping us to organize transport, recommending restaurants, hotels and sights! The property is cozy, clean and has a pretty rose garden. It is 10 mins walk to the old town. Book here and don't think twice!
My stay was perfect. The hotel is in the Ancient Town, so you can really feel immersed in the Tibetan culture.
The room was super clean and comfortable, it had bed heather, aswell as room heathers.
The Owner was super friendly and gave me a ride to the bus station.
Best experience ever.
Luckily, it snowed two days before our arrival and the kids had a chance to play in the snow. The owners' dogs and cats were lovely to play with. There was a nice hill just behind the hotel grounds that we explored. The owners were a couple of very friendly people.
Comfortable, clean, great location. Hotel staff were top notch! They were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about local recommendations and even walked us to our destinations a few times! 10/10 Highly recommend
The Hotel is actually nice, the design is good and the rooms are comfortable.
The staff is willing to help you bring the luggage to the second floor, especially the male guy was kind.
