Hotel in Monterey

Its close to the race track, Aquarium and beaches but you'll need a car to travel to most of those destinations (there are a few local beaches within walking distance but its a 10 min drive to the wharf ). It's a much more budget friendly alternative to staying in Monterey.
My trip to Monterey Bay was amazing, due to how beautiful the scenery was and how close everything was to were I stayed. The Wave Street In was a great hotel to stay in because the aquarium and many restaurants are so close to it you can walk everywhere and not worry about parking. The hotel was also great as everything was clean and the staff was very helpful.
I liked the proximity to Monterey, Pacific Grove, Carmel-by-the-Sea and the main attractions. The only downside was the particular location of the apartment in an industrial area, which was not apparent from the online external photos of the property. Sand City itself was a good location, less than ten minutes to the Monterey Airport, Fisherman's Wharf area, etc. It is also close to Pacific Grove and Seaside which offer a variety of attractions and eating locations. The weather was absolutely perfect.
The shower was a Joke. It had virtually no water pressure, and the hottest water setting was barely luke warm. The fire alarm woke everyone up at 5:45 am, and we were forced to evacuate. This was caused by a temporary power outage. There is no reason the electrical power should influence the alarms going off. The Monterey area gets power outages on a regular basis. Is the hotel supposed to evacuate every time?! Overall, the property looks shabby and old. Definitely not worth a total of $500 per day! We won’t be returning here.
I love the ocean. There are just so many great little beaches to visit. Monterey has so much Sea life too. We saw harbor seals, otters, elephant seals, too late for the Monarch Butterflys, tons of birds, just from the walking paths! We actually walked from Monterey to Pacific Grove. There are also loads of shops, and restaurants.
Seaside is right next to Monterey, so the trip over was very short. Seaside has grown a lot in the last 10 years, and there are many newer businesses geared toward tourism to choose from. For example we were able to catch one of the NBA finals games at the nearby Buffalo Wild wings. Lots of fast food and other restaurants and also shopping such as Grocery outlet and Walgreens nearby. Beach life is just minutes away as well.
