Best Western Columbia River Waterfront Hotel Astoria, hotel in Astoria

This hotel is located off U.S. Highway 30, in a historical beach area on the banks of the beautiful Columbia River.

This room is perfect for our needs as it has a sofa for me to sit on for my medical needs and two very comfortable and clean beds. The dispensers in the bathtub ( shampoo, conditioner & body wash) were an extra bonus. The breakfast choices available were many and the hours for being available were great (6-10am) The front desk staff were supper friendly and helpful.

We decided to do a touristy weekend, came over form Portland. We found the perfect breakfast spot, very inexpensive and SO good! The Riverwalk Restaurant, the biscuits and gravy are to die for. Our favorite seafood place is South Bay Wild Fish House. We love walking the streets and going into all the groovy little shops. Took the Underground Tour this time which was so fun! Visited the Astoria Column which was so interesting and the scenery from the ground and the top of the column was breathtaking. The climb up the column had me out of breath so caution if you have medical issues or are just plain out of shape like me. My grandson and I went bowling at Lower Columbia Bowl when a beachside fire was out of the question for grandpa lol . Had a blast! We love Astoria!!

Love the antique and unique shops on Commercial in downtown Astoria. Toured the Flavel House, which I definitely recommend. Found a funky sportsbar called the MerryTime which serves giant juicy burgers. Love the sound of the seals and the maritime feel of Astoria.

Friendly town- many good food choices- excellent fresh seafood available. If you like to visit a brewery this town is for you as well... Also, fun ride to the top of the town to visit the Column... Astoria Brewery, Rogue, Fort George and Reach Breach some of our favorite stops.

We loved the location of the hotel. It was next to the river with a walking path.Every morning and evening we watched the ships come in and viewed the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.Downtown Astoria was easy to walk and offered many shops and places to eat.Just a beautiful old town with stunning views.

Astoria is a busy place, lots to do.

Astoria is a busy place, lots to do. We went down to spend time with young grandchildren and took a good friend and his son. Booking.com advertises This motel at $60 a night and it was $175 a night so we could not stay as long as we would have liked. I think misrepresentation like this is a crime and I felt cheated.. The motel blamed the price change on Booking.com.

    The hotel location was super.

The hotel location was super. We were within walking distance of a few restaurants. We ate at the Bridgewater Bay Bistro only a couple of minutes walk. The fresh caught halibut was wonderfully tasty. We also ate at a local Mexican restaurant, El Tiapatio, (10-minute walk) from hotel. The restaurant was colorful and food and drinks were great. Many locals were also dining there. The riverwalk is directly in front of the hotel. There is some construction on it, so it was not as accessible as it might have been. The Trolley is running only from 1-4 pm. Museums are a 30-35 minute walk from the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed the Heritage Museum with history of Astoria.

Great location only a couple of blocks to downtown. A wonderful bakery and brewery are a block away. We walked to the Astoria Column. It is only a mile but it is ascending the whole way. We very much appreciated they have a dedicated locked bike storage closet. We had just completed the Trans America route from Yorktown, VA to Astoria and it was great to know our tandem was secure. We also liked both the kitchen and common areas. Everything was really comfortable. Larry, the owner gave me rags and let me use the hose to clean my bike.

I love this hotel and book for special occasions, birthdays, and anaverys. The staff is always helping and kind to us and makes us feel special when we arrive. The room is always clean and beautiful. A short walk upstairs, and you'll be on the roof looking at all of Astoria beautiful views. This hotel is walking distance to everything downtown. This is the perfect location to tour not only Astoria but also the Long Beach Peninsula a few miles to the north and the Seaside/Cannon Beach area to the south. The free breakfast is very well presented and offers a better-than-average selection and quality of food and drinks. The hotel is an excellent place to watch the river traffic from, and we enjoy that aspect very much.

The view was beautiful and the hotel felt very modern. The complimentary wine and appetizer plate was great to help us settle in after our long journey. The bartender, Piotr was fantastic and a pleasure to talk to. The croissants at breakfast were fresh baked and delicious

I was surprised by the cleanliness that this facility provided! I was a little nervous about the shared bathroom situation but they were so clean and i didn’t have any troubles. I loved the little space I got to stay in and the rest of the hotel was also nicely out together.
