Stayed here with 3 kids and had a wonderful time! The staff was SO welcoming and friendly, we loved the traditional dinner and breakfast, the Onsen was great and the location was beautiful. We were able to get picked up from the train station which made it really easy to get to. Also we realized we forgot a charger in the room after we had left, and the owner kindly mailed it to our next location for us.

Real guesthouse feel - the host was super nice, very chatty and friendly. He drove me to and later picked me up from the Snow Monkey Park, and also dropped me off at the bus station after I checked out. Breakfast was quite lovely and worth the price. It even accommodated for my allergies. The whole place was immaculately clean and well-maintained. I was recuperating from snowboarding injuries and and my warm, comfortable bed really hit the spot.

Authentic ryokan and very nice outdoor onsen on a hidden side street. Close access to the village public onsens that you need the provided a key to enter. Really nice experience in the town. Kaiseki meals worth it!
