I was very happy with my stay at Miharaya Ryokan and would definitely stay again. The location is fantastic, my room was clean, spacious and comfortable and the shared bathing facility was very good. Breakfast was large and tasty and the owners were friendly and attentive. All-in-all, I was very happy.

The cost of accommodation was economical.
The accommodation is a single-storied house building which was clean and spacious.
One bedroom, dining room, kitchen, and shower room were available. Too great for a solo traveler.
The dining room was spacious enough. The electric kettle was available so I enjoyed free tea and coffee.
There was no bed, but I enjoyed the duvet (futon).
The shower room was clean and basic amenities were all there.
The bathtub was available there, but I just used a shower.
The staff was friendly and polite.

This is a skiing region, yet there are plenty of possibilities in other seasons as well. Excellent Onsen, great hiking opportunities, and most probably mountain biking is an option as well. There is for sure a huge golf course.
Limited public transport almost exclusively in Japanese, own or rental car thus advised. Excellent food available in the limited number of bars and restaurants this place offers.
