Beautiful property, lovely owners and amazing breakfasts.
Surprisingly active little place. I thought it might be a sleepy, homogenous pocket in the middle of nowhere but there's lots of walking trails, biking, and kayaking; that weekend there was even a big multicultural festival in the city center. Downtown has ample shops, diners, cafes, plus a fine arts theater.

Loved the waffles, chicken and greens for breakfast at the Filling Station. Very reasonably priced. The Redeye Brewing Company is a must stop for a "brewski" and dinner. The Tine and Cellar is a good choice for cocktails and dinner or a weekend breakfast.

Nice town, downtown is welcoming, yummy restaurants. The Filling Station had a great brunch buffet. Downtown had a chalk fest. Mularkeys had amazing Bloody Mary’s. We also attended the balloon fest which was lots of fun.

We came to Wausau for a mini vacation with the focus for our 5 years great grandson to have fun swimming. Much of our time was spent at the motel.
Days Inn Wyndam of Wausau is surrounded by a wide variety of restaurants. Which was perfect.
Plenty of stores of all varieties a short walk or ride away.

We enjoyed biking , eating at a restaurant downtown that had sidewalk seating ( ciao) delicious dinner , friendly service . Tres Hermanos for mexican was delicious as well altho server was rather aloof and ambience was lacking .
I was worried being placed on and ground floor on the highway side of the building - but the hotel was completely full and I was a last minute reservation - they even gave me the handicap accessible room- even though we didn’t ask for it. But I was so impressed - it was so quiet - even though we were just down from the lobby - and a nice comfortable clean room. Waking distance to some restaurants - good breakfast. I’d stay here again.
Margaret’s attention to detail was wonderful! Her food presentation was fabulous and delicious.I loved the sauna and the gas firetable.
We loved everything about our stay here. Don’t pass this up if your needing to stay in Wausau. So much better than a hotel!!!!
The mattress was wonderful and the room was overall good. The physical facilities of the hotel were relatively new and appeared clean. Its location was right in the middle of several good restaurants and bars all within walking distance.
Great location in a beautiful historic part of Wausau. Randy made wonderful homemade cheddar biscuits and gravy with fruit and served excellent coffee! Loved the atmosphere. Great host to all of the guests.
old school hotel reminded me of when I was a kid. Property is old but clean and maintained. Don’t like the old style heating units in the room. Hard to maintain a true temp and room was very hot.
Quiet Location in an upmarket neighbourhood at the foot of Rib Mountain. Large room with balcony overlooking forest. Spotlessly clean. Laundry room. Close to Wausau shopping. Small cosy property.
The ONLY good thing was the young man working at the front desk. I believe his name was Dylan...I'm not sure, but he just started working at the hotel two weeks prior and moved here from Iowa.
