I love Baraboo; it's a charming town with loads of historic buildings and many great restaurants. (I LOVE Jen's Alpine Cafe!) Most people may know it for the circus museum, but I've yet to see that. The town itself and the nearby International Crane Foundation and Aldo Leopold Foundation are the chief attractions for me, along with the beautiful scenery of the area. The town boasts a lovely small zoo as well, and there's also railroad museum I'll try to catch next time!

Quaint small town with lots of circus-themed attractions.
Quaint small town with lots of circus-themed attractions. The circus parade and street fair (check online for date each summer) was a prime slice of Midwest small-town culture; bring a lawn chair and sun protection. Lots of thrift stores and antique shops to browse.

Baraboo is a beautiful city!
Baraboo is a beautiful city! So much history and sights to see! I can't wait for my next trip to Baraboo. We stayed four days on this trip, first day we went to Man Mound and took a short trip into Wisconsin Dells for dinner at Monk's. Second day of our stay we took a peaceful hike around Mirror Lake State Park. Third day we we explored Devil's Lake State Park and climbed up the bluff to see The Devil's Doorway and on the fourth day (our last day) We explored the Ochsner Park Zoo and Old Baraboo Inn. The Ochsner Park Zoo was a very cute little free zoo, I highly recommend checking out! Unfortunately, The Old Baraboo Inn was closed by the time we could make it there (open only on the weekends, we stopped Monday morning 😔) but, it gives us a reason to come back to Baraboo as the Old Baraboo Inn was something we really wanted to experience. It was a wonderful trip and we can't wait to get back for another visit.

The part of the city we stayed in was lovely.
The part of the city we stayed in was lovely. The were so many well cared for old homes. In other nearby neighborhoods lots of kids were playing outside. (I see this as a good sign)
We liked a restaurant in town so much we went there two nights in a row.

it’s and interesting city with attractions and is less congested than nearby Wisconsin Dells. The Circus Museum is a gem, and local winery Balanced Rock is nice. Driftless Glen Distillery is a must stop, as is Tumbled Rock Brewery and Restaurant
Space was nice for our group of 8. There were 6 teenagers and we had plenty of space. Liked the entryway as all of their snowboarding gear could be kept here. Was a short distance to Devil's Head and Cascade Mountain skiing. Enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub. Bathrooms were well supplied with towels. Short trip to either Baraboo or Wisconsin Dells. Don't miss out on pizza and cheese curds from Gem City Pub in Baraboo and a drink with food at Driftless Glenn Distillery.
Dave and Trudy were amazing. The level of hospitality was outstanding and everything from the location, to the property, the rooms and the meals were excellent. Very convenient location, yet still tucked away enough to make it feel very private. If you are looking for a relaxing weekend at a property that has the best view in Wisconsin, then look no further. It truly was a slice of heaven.
A great hotel to spend a few nights. Good breakfast, I liked the restaurant where you can have a nice time in the evening. I liked the pool on the 4th floor and the SPA. Comfortable beds, quite spacious room.
Really flexible and generous staff, made my stay fairly easy, plain and simple! The venue is also located on a main road in Baraboo w/ restaurants, gas stations and the likes nearby, great for a quick trip!
It is close to the Dells but not smack dab in the middle of the “action.” We were tired travelers when we checked in and it was quiet enough to get much-needed sleep. Breakfast was good.
It was a very atmospheric place to stay but the bathroom was all updated, which made it very comfortable. Great breakfast and within walking distance of good food in downtown Baraboo.
I got the room at a good price. I wasn't willing to pay > $100 for a room the night before a climbing trip. The hotel was also very close to Devil's Lake State Park.
