The owner, Christa, thought of everything. There was a lovely sitting area for two in my room. The house was so warm and inviting. There was a fascinating book on the history of the inn which I read in front of a warm fire in the living room. Hot chocolate and coffee anytime, a bar open until 9 or so, so many delicious choices for breakfast. Absolutely wonderful.
The White Horse Inn was wonderful! Very comfortable and clean. Bob And Allen are great owners! Location was perfect...quiet but yet accessible to Killington and Stowe. Would definitely stay here again! Frank & Linda

Waitsfield is exactly how I pictured a small New England town should look. It has adorable shops, a farmer's market, and some good restaurant options. We had delicious steak at the Hyde Away Inn, and beer at Lawson's Finest Liquids. Our stay at the Mad River Lodge was comfortable, in a lovely setting just outside of town. We were in the area for the Mad River Marathon, which is challenging, but scenic.

We loved the town, however we had a hard time finding businesses and restaurants that were actually open for business. This was partly due to COVID and also we visited on a Monday/Tuesday. We sadly learned that some of the establishments we wanted to visit were closed permanently or not opened due to the days of the week. We ended up having to go to the supermarket to purchase our dinner, because 3 of the restaurants we wanted to go to were closed for business, or closed at 8 pm, (we live in the city and an 8 pm close is unheard of) and we didn’t want to eat pizza or Chinese.... so we ended up at at the grocery store which also closed at 9.

Beautiful town nestled in the mountains of Vermont.
Beautiful town nestled in the mountains of Vermont. Check out Lawson's Brewery and Pub -- A new facility with exceptional beer and unique atmosphere. Consider staying at the nearby Tucker Hill Inn with comfortable cozy rooms, outstanding staff, and excellent food. Relax with a round of golf at the nearby Sugar Bush Golf Course which is absolutely beautifully maintained and well designed. The mountain views are spectacular. Waitsfield is worth your time to visit!

Winding our way over mountains and through the forests was really enjoyable. And arriving in Waitsfield was a pleasant surprise. I kept watching for the unique character and design of houses and other buildings around the town.
Excellent hotel comparing it to other hotels of such price in the USA. I used to live in such hotels for reasonable price in Europe, but in the US usually all hotels for such price are old or new, but look outdated even before construction completes. This one was a big surprise for us, you will see and feel how owners are interested in doing their business well.
The hotel is very cozy with the typical flair of a mountain lodge. Beautiful and clean rooms, easy check-in, friendly staff, free coffee all the time and even some cheap snacks for breakfast. The hotel lobby is also very beautiful. We were looking for a cheap overnight-stay and our expectations were even exceeded.
The Inn owner Tim was excellent in making sure that our stay was wonderful. He cooked amazing breakfasts every morning that powered us on the ski slopes. The location was within minutes of Sugarbush and Mad River. The room was nice and comfortable with a great view of the snow field and various birds and deer.
Easy Check in! I didn’t see any staff but that ok I was provided with everything I needed.
The hotel was still having some refurbishment going on but it’s looking great!
Room very beautiful felt very safe as a solo traveller!
Lovely surrounding loads of Parking
The best features of the accommodation were the comfort and cleanliness of the room, the extreme friendliness and helpfulness of the innkeepers, and the fabulous three course hot breakfasts (especially the homemade scones).
This entire hotel has a very relaxed vibe and the breakfast area is also a nice place to hang out with friends and family on your trip. It's a good option if you're stopping by in town.
