We loved staying at the inn. It was very close to skiing and we liked that the pub was attached so we didn’t have to go outside to have dinner. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and charming. The breakfast staff was accommodating and friendly and they had breakfast ready on time so we could hit the slopes early.

Thing to remember is this is a resort with a european feel, not just a hotel to lay your head down for the night. If you are looking for a just a clean bed and continental breakfast this may not be your cup of tea. The facility is big, yet has a coziness to it. We loved the multiple small gathering rooms and nooks spread about the building with shelves filed with books, board games and puzzles. The property is huge, plenty of places to wander but also lots of hosted happenings. Loved the beer hall...they do a maple themed beer every year and it is very good. Staff is exceptional. they all seem to love working there. Highly recommend as a get away place.

Excellent decor, friendly staff, and incredible common area above pool. Walkability to the best of Stowe's town restaurants was a huge bonus, even more so in the warmer months.
The value for the price paid was exceptional! The room was gorgeous - and we were delighted with the big jacuzzi - sure wasn’t expecting that! The bed and pillows were EXTREMELY comfortable! We have bragged this place up and recommended it to our family for Fall Foliage! We definitely will be back!
What a hidden gem, it got great reviews, but we were still very pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful, relaxing resort it was. Met our needs of being near to Stowe, Burligton, hwy, yet remote enough so that we enjoyed the solitude, peace and quiet of VT and just being together. Wonderful, clean cabin, everything was mint so perhaps it had just been renovated, or they are all just that nice. Lots of nice hiking trails, pond to boat on, pool (too chilly this time of year), game room, DVD movies, plenty to do.
Sterling is a great resort for families and pets. The cabins are well apportioned, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the resort is close to many activities including Smugglers Notch skiing. We - us and the dogs - had a great time morning and afternoon traipsing around the resort's trails; before and after a day of skiing.
The breakfast was fabulous. You fill in your order what you would like the evening before with the time, and the next morning your breakfast is ready to eat when you show up. The location was very good also, a little distance from Stowe and Burlington, but there where a lot of hiking trails near by, mainly a little car drive away.
The cabin was beautiful, extremely comfortable for my family of 5 (2 adults and 3 teenagers ages 15,16,17), and had a fully equipped kitchen. The staff was extremely amenable and friendly. The location was excellent, near Smugglers Notch for skiing.
The gentleman who checked us in, was very friendly and helpful! The hotel was very clean! And the shower was nice and hot. Bed was really comfortable, and had a great night's sleep! Breakfast was also lovely! The pancakes were amazing!!!
The breakfast was good but there was a food tray in the room which confused me when I had to fille out a paper stating what I wanted for brakfast. The location was near a few nice towns Morrisville, Stowe, Cabot and Burlington.
the property was located close to Smugglers Notch which was the purpose of our trip. Great fall colors surrounding the property and the Inn has a homey feel to it. They offered great breakfast every morning!!!
Friendly and very helpful hotel staff. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner at the bar downstairs was very good and convenient. A glass of wine by the fireplace each night was an excellent way to finish each day.
Smugglers Notch Inn was everything we imagined a quaint Vermont Inn would be! From the beautiful wide plank floors, to the excellent homemade breakfasts every morning, it was all we had hoped it would be!
The Inn was 3 minutes from the party that we attended in Jeffersonville, which is why we booked there. The bed was relatively comfortable and the room was relatively clean with plenty of towels.
Nice hotel in a traditional house, clean and comfortable with a common area lounge. The adjoint restaurant is excellent. Beef Tip was tender and delicious.
