The Steamtown Aquarium was wonderful. Steamtown mall has a very unique rock and collectibles shop that shouldn’t be missed if you love looking for treasures. The Steamtown National Historic site for all things trains…and more.

Scranton was a great place to visit.

Scranton was a great place to visit. Our stay was going well until the evening before our last day my 8 year old nephew was called a racist word by some young white men standing in the hallway of our hotel. He turned the corner of the hallway ahead of us headed to our room and when he turned the corner someone from the group looked at him and said "It's only a ni××××". They may have assumed he was alone. My nephew has never experienced anything like that before and it was upsetting.

We are only on a road-trip overnighter this time but on a previous trip to Scranton I came primarily for the railroad and coal history in the area. Beyond my limited interests, I can't say it's much of a tourist destination (other than for fans of "The Office " TV show). However, it could be considered as a steppingstone to the Poconos mountains area.

Some fascinating historic sites: Steamtown. We drove around and looked at the Art-Deco buildings. Very interesting city. We bought frozen dinners for our meal but there are many restaurants in the city. We were very happy to stay over in Scranton.

Lived there prior. We were in town for a family funeral. Scranton is a good place to be from. Not entirely sure, if all would see it in the same light as we do. However, from a historical perspective, the reflections of the railroad and mining industry still present possibly offers some interesting insight and information.

Visited for a tour of 'The Office' landmarks and mentions.

Visited for a tour of 'The Office' landmarks and mentions. Very cool city with lots of interesting and historic architecture. Interesting Steam locomotive museum in town. The Glider Diner has an excellent breakfast for a bargain and Coopers seafood is an awesome spot for supper with tons of memorabilia and an extreme selection of beer available. The streets in town are poorly labeled and riddled with potholes but otherwise navigation was pretty straightforward.

The building is beautiful. The view from the 6th floor is amazing looking over the city. The rooms are large and nice but nothing fancy. Didn’t have time to use many of the facilities the hotel offers. The staff is super nice. Check in was smooth. Room service!!! The general man that delivered breakfast is so super sweet! Water pressure was great!! Had 2 outlets AND 2 USB plugs by each bed. Looking at the parking lot it looked like the hotel was pretty full but we heard nothing at night.

It is exquisite and unique , so well maintained. The architectural details are fascinating. Anthony at the front desk is so welcoming, helpful, and kind. He even remembered me from my last visit 5 months ago! The food at breakfast and at Trax was delicious. The bartenders and servers were outstanding. The room was great, the beds comfy . We've traveled a lot but this is our favorite hotel ! Who knew we'd find this gem in Scranton!

Location is great. 1 minute off the interstate. I checked in around midnight and was out by 8 am, but the room was so nice, I kind of wished I was staying longer. Massive double queen room with separate sitting area. Very clean and mostly quiet although I could hear the guests next door when I was in the bathroom, but it was hardly intrusive. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Free coffee and basic breakfast in the lobby.

We stayed one night on our way north. The hotel is easy to locate next to I81. The room is a nice size with desk and couch. It had a microwave and mini fridge. The bathroom has 2 sinks, one on the outside of the bathroom and the other in the bathroom. Could be usefull but we didn't use the outside one. The shower had good pressure. The bed was very comfortable.

The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Slept like we were on a cloud. The breakfast was pretty good...not like some hotels that have a nominal breakfast just to say there was some food. Pool looked nice too...we felt bad we didn't have a chance to use it
