The room was exceptionally clean, with no off-putting "old hotel" odors or "cover-up" scents. The bed was vey comfortable, with a mattress that felt like new. The hot water was hot within seconds. The room rate was very fair for the total eclipse weekend. I am not a breakfast person, so I did not partake or even observe what was offered. I did not log onto the motel's wifi, choosing to use my own mobile "hotspot."

I went Sunday to Thursday in mid December, but it seems like "season" doesn't start in Lake Placid until Christmas day. A lot of attractions and restaurants are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and it was raining the only day the speed skating oval was open for me, so I had bad luck and would plan better next time. I didn't get to do bobsled experience and other things from the legacy site and was even turned away from the Gondola at whiteface as a sight seer. So just make sure the things you want to do will be open when you go.

Lake Placid is an absolutely beautiful little town. Everything is within walking distance and there is so much to see and do. It’s pricey but there are so many beautiful little shops and places to eat. Walk the lake or climb a mountain, you’ll keep busy for days.

The hotel was great, very clean, beds comfy, great breakfasts! Staff was friendly and personable. Nice keurig coffee machine in room, so you can bring your own k cups if you want. They only have Green Mountain brand. They also have decaf. Location was the best! Not very far from anything! Loved the top of Whiteface Mountain, can access by elevator or hiking. Was a continuous fragrance of pine, reminded me of Christmas. While at the ski jumps we had a chance to see some of the 6-14 year olds practice. That was great! We had a very good meal at Black Bear Restaurant! Getting around town is very easy. All in all a great place to stay for a few days.

we participated in the Olympic venues passport choice and had a wonderful time exploring and partaking at each venue. the food at every restaurant was great, we liked the creperie and black bear restaurants. driving around was easy. We did mini golf, the visitors cruise on lake placid, had a manicure, made a bead bracelet, and browsed the shops. We also went to High falls gorge. the scenery in the area cannot be beat, the trees, mountains, and lakes are awe inspiring. i think that was my favorite part.

I was very surprised that this is a chain hotel - it feels like a well cared for boutique lodge. The staff was very friendly and personable, the hotel was very clean and the little perks like snacks of popcorn in the lobby, 24 hour hot beverage bar, and games/puzzles for the guests to enjoy made it feel like home. The morning breakfast was good as well, a wide selection to choose from with some variation day to day. The hotel was also had a great location by the lake with easy walking to everything in Lake Placid.

Nothing in particular. Except it is located close to Lake Placid where I was assisting hikers on the NtP trail. I only stayed two of the seven days I reserved and checked out. Moved to the Bluebird hotel for the next five days. The carriage house was far less attractive than it appears on their website. The pool pictured was not available and looked like it had not been used in years. Hoping to get a refund from “Bookings” as the motel says they are responsible.

Excellent location. Beautiful bay with kayaks to use for free. Beautiful rooms with everything you could possibly need. The pool area was awesome. The view was so relaxing at night. Our entire family was sad to leave this hotel. There are so many things to do in the area. The lounge area had an ice machine, microwave and extract towels. Contactless check in was a plus. We will be back.

We have stayed at High peaks several times in the past. The rooms were looking tired so we were especially happy to be in a newly renovated room-very nice. We were greeted with the traditional champagne and the chef had made brownies-nice touch. We love the location of the hotel and the free parking. The staff was great and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay.

Amazing new renovation! Stayed here for the Lake Placid Horse Show and loved it. The rooms are adorably decorated and the bed is massive. Check-in is seamless with just a text for the door code, and management is super accommodating. Also in a great location to walk to town or the sack shack. Highly reccomend the Boha! Thanks!

The biggest disappointment was no pool!!!! But we were notified of that AFTER we had already booked. Couldn't find another room anywhere (ECAC hockey playoff weekend) so still kept the reservation. We always stay here when visiting Lake Placid - hope they rebuild up on the hill and have a nice pool like before.
