I love Keene, my daughter went to college there. There are many shops and restaurants and places to hike and explore. It is great year around. I would recommend. Sadly this time I was in town for a funeral, but even that was close by.
Cheers,

We came in for Keene State College open house, and also to visit our eldest child who attends Keene State. I can't say enough about Keene, campus on the Main Street, walking distance to exceptional town center full of restaurants, breweries, quaint shops, just beautiful. On the back end of the campus also hosts every chain you can imagine, from Walmart to McDonalds and every chain store in between for ease for students to walk to and fill up on necessities. The downtown is absolutely beautiful, even if you don't stay it's worth the day trip to explore.

Lovely college town although the rotaries (round abouts) are a bit much. Bretwood Golf course (36 holes) is the best. Lovely course...driving range....great pro shop ...food and seating on balcony over looking the course.
The breakfast in the morning was lovely. Our host made us a yummy spread of delicious, healthy options to help us get our day started. We also got to chat with the host more as well as meet the other guests who were staying at the inn. There is nothing like sharing stories over breakfast. The location was perfect, right in downtown Keene. You could literally walk downtown to get to everything (bars, shops, restaurants, etc.) It was also quite close to Mount Monadnock where we hiked the next day!
The Holiday Inn in Keene is always my first choice when staying in Keene. The staff is pleasant, and the rooms are spacious and tidy. The beds are comfortable, and you always have plenty of space for what you need. The shower's hot water works well, and the refrigerator is always a welcome plus!
The room was superior, recently renovated, king size bed. En-suite in room, very clean upon arrival. This hotel also had a swimming pool. Breakfast provided in the morning. All around it was a really comfortable stay, would highly recommend to all :)
Though they advertised free breakfast, "due to renovations, it was not offered, sorry". Staff couldn't give suggestions for nearby places where we could get breakfast. Also, fitness room was closed due to the renovations.
The lady who checked us in was very friendly and gave us an upgraded room. Very clean and only about 7 mins from down town Keenes strip. The pour house bar was really fun to check out if you want some night life downtown.
I loved everything about this, was definitly cheaper and roomier than a hotel room. The shower is AMAZING!!! I love that this woman does this with her house and i thank her so much! I highly recommend
Location. Staff was much more pleasant than my stay a week earlier when I had a conversation with the manager who insisted that my room had a king bed in it and he was very argumentative.
Location was fantastic for walking dowtown area and to Keene State (under a mile to Keene) Lovely decorated, had plenty in the room for comfort ie good sized fridge, coffe/tea making etc
The room was very large, well appointed and very comfortable. Coffee in the lobby was a nice touch. Staff was kind and friendly. Loved the location in cute downtown Keene.
Hotel is in a neatly good shape. Could not complain about anything that is to be expected. And it was surprisingly silent, like really new hampshire silent :)
