FAQs about hotels in Reno
On average, 3-star hotels in Reno cost $103 per night, and 4-star hotels in Reno are $93 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Reno can be found for $71 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
In many respects Reno is a less outlandish version of its Nevada cousin Las Vegas. Within minutes of landing at Reno-Tahoe Airport you can be hearing the dinging of slot machines on Virginia Street where a glowing neon arch welcomes you to ‘The Biggest Little City in the World’.
Across the plaza is Harrah’s Reno, just one casino hotel available on Booking.com. Larger casinos with spas, such as Peppermill and Atlantis, are off the main strip. The largest is the Grand Sierra Resort with its own amusement park, large pool and night club. Pet-friendly motels and cheap hostels are other options.
Aside from gambling, the city hosts many events including the Reno River Festival in Wingfield Park. The Truckee River Walk connects shops, restaurants and bars popular with students at the nearby University of Nevada, the state’s oldest. The campus includes the Mackay Stadium and Fleischmann Science Center and Planetarium, set opposite the arboretum of Rancho San Rafael Park.
The Nevada Museum of Art is in Reno and neighbouring Sparks has a Heritage Museum. The 2 cities share a convention centre and livestock events centre, and there are many golf courses in their green surroundings. Even lusher are the Sierra Nevada mountains, whose peaks around Lake Tahoe offer some of the best US skiing.
3 days was perfect time. Enough to lose some money but not over what I had expected. We had a car one day that was nice but inside the city if very depressed (boarded up) but they seem to be working on it. The river walk was great, over neighborhood a bit iffy.

I was born here, I would visit Reno more often due to the immense beauty of the surrounding area, the arts, food, and things to do. I suggest going camping or visiting the wilderness (with Caution) and go see some of the history of the Silver city (biggest little city)

All I can say is Reno is now what it used to be cracked up to It used to be really the spot until COVID after COVID all downhill kind of like a ghost town downtown. A lot of the casinos are shut down nobody really is partying or having lots of fun like they used to be I've been there a lot of times before and after not really sure of a great place to eat we just eat wherever is convenient. Getting around part well Google maps will do that for you if you have a car which is normally what I have.

Our room was decent but the rest of the hotel was unsatisfactory, to say the least. There's free parking but we're handicapped so we had to pay for valet parking and pay and pay because of having to leave the hotel for different reasons. The service in the restaurants was very slow and the slots were tighter than a witches ***. I asked around to a lot of people and they said the same thing. The machines weren't paying crap. I just kept putting money into them with no payout. The signs around the casino were very poor. We could never find our way around because there was very little direction. What's with that???
We will never go there again.
Staff was friendly & helpful. Good rates, clean & comfortable accommodations, good beds. Outstanding full breakfast buffet in nice restaurant dining setting! Nice view facing west from upper windows. Easy free parking, close to the Row casinos & restaurants if you want to drive over & visit them. Hotel is under new management, undergoing renovation as they come out of COVID decline. Definitely worth a look as a good value. We were there for the Air Races, it was a very good base for us.
Breakfast was not included. The location of the hotel was within walking distance to other casinos/attractions. The attached parking was not available and under construction. I had to park in a separate parking garage across the street. A bit inconvenient but not too long of a walk. The hotel is a bit dated. It appears renovations are being made. I really liked that there were no hotel fees. I think the price is highly affordable.
I loved Circus Circus Reno! We also stayed at circus Circus Las Vegas and by far Reno circus circus is the newer, cleaner hotel part(at least the rooms we had) But, the casino in Las Vegas is better, cleaner, brighter and bigger! Don’t get me wrong_ we played in the casino at Reno Circus Circus for hours. We ordered pizza and had the best delivery girl. Overall, A very fun stay in Reno!
I like the location. GSR has so much to offer! Our room was great! Nice view and very comfortable bed. Enjoyed several of the bars on the casino floor. Casino is easy to navigate and very clean. One thing I would like to see is some $5 tables. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. This is my favorite hotel in Reno.
this place was amazing! after staying in a big casino in Reno, we wanted to try a more peaceful, out of the way hotel, and this did not disappoint! the staff was amazing with our early check in, the room was clean and quiet with an amazing view from the covered balcony. will be staying there for every trip to Reno
Well it’s down town Reno! I went there to have some fun, and play video poker. My room was up stairs from the Casino. And they have the best restaurants in town . Parking was at the same location at no cost to me and elevators to take you to the hotel and Casino. It’s a fantastic place to stay and have fun.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, good casino. Felt safe, and had food options on site. Good location, only 10 minutes to downtown Reno. Close to gas stations, stores, restaurants, pharmacies. Room was in separate building from casino (just across the parking lot), so it was quiet at night.
It is a clean and well run hotel in a gross city that of filled with sleazy casino hotels. The staff are amazing and it is a little out of the way from the aggressive drunk people that roam the streets of Reno at night. One of the only two smoke free hotels in the city.
The best thing about this hotel is the staff was very nice and helpful. This hotel is in downtown Reno, it's close to the "strip" and also close to a couple of nice museums, the National Auto Museum and the Art Museum. Hotel has a small shop with chips drinks etc.
Very big room with comfortable bed and big telly
Food expensive but found a cheap food court in connected sister hotel circus circus
Value for money compared to paying to stay in alpine meadows or squaw or heavenly
Mr Ta,. Bar tender simply the best happiest polite employee in the world. We only stay at your hotel to catch up with him. Please give him a raise....n a big thank you. From us. Martin n cristie from England.
"Old" hotel, but with a deep renovation. Rooms are clean and globally ok.
Fitness center open 24h. The breakfast (included) is broadly appropriate.
Large parking lot for free.
I love the location of this hotel. It’s just a short drive to Downtown Reno and/or Sparks, parking is convenient, and the rooms are not only clean, but very spacious.
