The television system is horrible. The host couldn't get the t.v. to work, so we had none. There were stains on the carpet, but we were told at check-in. Apparently, we stayed before a remodel.

We were a large group a families (10 rooms) in TC for a youth sports tournament in mid-February and Sugar Beach was perfect for our needs:
- Indoor pool is a good size, and they had plenty of towels
- Younger siblings liked the small arcade
- Small fridge in room was helpful
- Nice breakfast options... like the hotel, not super fancy... but good variety of options and good quality
- Morning run on the beach was great... quiet stretch of the beach
- Dairy Queen across the street was handy... and in the summer, proximity to Pirate's Cove (large large mini golf and other activities in warmer weather) across the street would be great.
- The staff was amazing... very helpful and patient with our young families. Paris in particular was AWESOME to work with... thanks so much Paris!
To be clear, like nearly all the hotels up in TC and especially those on the beach -- it is an older hotel and not high end luxury or anything... but for being directly on the beach and for other considerations listed above we highly recommend it.

Traverse City is beautiful. I always enjoy my stay.
Traverse City is beautiful. I always enjoy my stay. They have lots of lovely restaurants. My favorite breakfast spot is The Cottage and we’ve enjoyed dinner at Poppycocks, Sorellina, and Harrington’s. However, we always have a hard time finding late night food. The Traverse City Comedy Club was fun and the shows are inexpensive. I find it to be a very relaxing trip and we will definitely go back.

I was there because my father was in the hospital. While he was having surgery or sleeping I went around the town… so many cool bar, restaurants, cool coffee bars, shopping… we are going back in the summer for a get away weekend! I loved it!

Traverse City is a beautiful little northern Michigan town.
Traverse City is a beautiful little northern Michigan town. There are many great places to eat (our favorite was Mama Lu's, and we enjoyed 'date night' Wednesday at Poppycock's). There are many great shops along Front Street and plentiful parking. In addition, there are parks and lighthouses in the vicinity for variety. We traveled to TC during the winter holidays, but would love to come back in the summer to take advantage of the hiking trails and to thoroughly enjoy the beachers and water. People were very friendly. TC is on the expensive side, but nothing too much more expensive than any other little town or resort site in Michigan. There is a lot of focus on drinking (wineries, breweries), but there is so much more to do than that. If you do drink, however, you would find doing a winery tour a lot of fun.

Traverse City offers many wonderful views, restaurants and shops. I think it offers something for everyone. The view over the bay changes every season so it is worth extra visits to take advantage of the lovely scenery.
The location was very good for travel to the
peninsula for wine tasting. It was not far from downtown Traverse City but certainly not within walking distance. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was certainly above average. The pool was excellent and even had an accessibility chair to enable people with disabilities to enter the pool. The whirlpool was nice after a long day of walking. I would stay here again.
Clean and comfortable hotel with a beautiful private beach. The rooms appeared to be newly remodeled. Hotel staff was very friendly. We were very pleasantly surprised! The hotel is just removed enough from the main area of downtown to feel like an escape, while still near restaurants and the airport. Just a 20 min drive up the peninsula to multiple wineries!
The room was nice with the fact it had 2 sinks. One in the bathroom and one in the room with a mirror. Breakfast is ok. Lot's of items to pick from. Everything is individually wrapped, just ask for what you would like. Can put on tray take back to your room. The hotel is right on the beach.
Jessica, at the Knights Inn, was really friendly and helpful.
I requested a room on the bottom floor and she was able to get me a room that fit my exact specifications.
The room that I stayed in was very comfortable and clean.
Excellent proximity to downtown Traverse City.
The Bay is very clear in the hotel area. The beach was nice. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. Most of the hotel is nicely updated. The restaurant looks like the only part not recently renovated. I am not a smoker and loved that there were no smoke smells of any type in the hotel.
Room and beds were comfortable and clean. Property was an easy, quick drive to downtown areas and there is food shopping nearby and a nice locally owned restaurant next door. Staff was friendly and helpful and I would stay again if ever back in town.
it’s a cute hotel with a very nice location. I loved having the room in the 1st floor with direct access to the beach. Also, they have an indoor pool and a play room with vintage machines and a gym, so I really liked that too. Staff is nice.
Location on the lake with private beach, superb. Balcony superb.
Accommodation on the higher end compared to other resorts in the area.
Plenty of parking.
Camp fire and hotel offers stuff for s'mores free of charge.
There is a beautiful view of the bay. Although it was chilly, there were bonfire pits on the beach. When we returned to the hotel Saturday night, there was a fire going. The location isn't bad.
As a brand new hotel, this is the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed. The staff were exceptionally friendly. The views from the balcony were gorgeous. The size of the room and bathroom were great.
The hotel offered a free ride to the historical downtown area along with a pickup when we were ready. We had a sink in our room which made making a salad easier
Everything was good, the hotel was new so everything was in great condition. The staff were lovely. I also love the bathroom "not soap, radio" products!
