The Temple Theatre is a must, a great old venue with a lot of character. The Castle Museum/Historical Society of Saginaw County is another beautiful site to see with a lot of history. Tony's Italian Restaurant on Gratiot or State St have exceptional Italian food. Most of the streets are north/south or east/west oriented so not difficult to move about Saginaw. I wish more of the old downtown area was being brought back to life.

We stayed in Saginaw because all reasonably priced accommodations in nearby Frankenmuth were already booked. We were heading there for their Bavarian Fest. Saginaw was a drivable distance option, and we didn’t spend much time there. We did, however take in the Saginaw Castle, which is an historic post office converted into a beautifully executed local history museum. Quite impressive.Sheridan - 4.0Scored 4.0

Hotel was not prepared to feed an influx of guests so on the morning of July 13, food was out at 7:30. We never got to talk to a manager and no compensation was offered. We had to go out and buy breakfast for my 92 yea old mother-in-law. On the 14th there was sufficient and good food for breakfast. This place is pet friendly, very calm and quiet during all hours of the day, and the views from the sky are incredible during morning and dusk. The staff are amazing and very accommodating. We had our light fixture go out during a storm and the staff had it fixed for us by the afternoon. It was a nice touch that there were two small chocolates left in the room with water. There is a lake outside. The location has a lot of potential.
