Breakfast started a 8, we already left. The rooms are nice and clean and comfortable. The walls, trim, bathrooms looked newly renovated. Refrigerator, air, micro, coffee maker. Has all you need in a small room. Love the door that exited right outside. The grounds were well manicured with nice little swing sitting areas.. would definitely recommed and use this place again. Kuddos to the people who make your stay nice and maintaining it so well.

It was an exceptional stay… my room was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. I especially appreciated the very good WiFi, plenty of towels, treats offered in the room (I needed a snack upon arrival); and, I liked the window dressings, which provided the quiet and privacy that I needed.
The staff was helpful and engaging.
I was not able to attend breakfast, but I hope to try it out next time I am in Williamstown for business.

Williamstown and North Adams are different towns and both have a great deal to offer. Easy access between each town, and to multiple hiking trails, as well as superb museums, makes the two towns an extremely attractive visit.

Nice little town. Friendly businesses and residents.
Nice little town. Friendly businesses and residents. Owner recommended Waterstreet Grill after we told her what type of food we were looking for when we arrived. She showed us how to get there. The restaurant staff were friendly and food was great there too.

Williamstown is a lovely college town in the foothills of the Berkshires. It has an active art scene with The Clark Institute, The Williams College Art Center, and the Willamstown Theater. It is nearby North Adams and the MassMoca Art Center, Pittsfield's Barrington Stage Theater, Tanglewood, Lenox, West Stockbridge Theater, and the Norman Rockwell Museum. The Berkshires is a playground for hiking, kayaking, biking, restaurants, music, dance, and offers a serene setting to relax and rejuvenate.

Lovely New England college town.
Lovely New England college town. Outstanding museum (Clark Art Institute), the reason for our visit. Very limited fine dining options on a Monday night; ate at Pera and highly recommend it! Very limited reasonably priced hotel/motel/B&B options.

We love Williamstown.
We love Williamstown. We have a long history of attending Williams and having family live in town. Our granddaughter now attends Williams so we go down from Burlington, Vermont every chance we get (which was not much during 2020 - Pandemic Year!). It is always a joyful place to be, especially Spring Street and The Tunnel!
The family that has run the motel for many years is wonderful -- friendly, helpful and very kind! Rooms are unexpectedly quite large, AC chillingly effective, everything is well-cleaned and simply works. Location simply can't be beat if you're coming for the College -- it is directly across the street. Don't expect a luxury hotel, but if you're OK or better with typical American motel architecture, this is a fantastic value for the money!
My spouse and I have stayed here three nights now. The first time we stayed, it was for 2 nights. Our room was great; without any hassle, it was neat and clean, simple, comfortable and cozy, quiet and peaceful, and offered a great price point. Our third stay here, has been pretty relaxing 😊. I plan on coming back to stay anytime I want/need a hotel room in the area and I would definitely suggest a stay at The 1896 House Country Inn.
Booked 2 rooms, Barnside is the Victorian suite side. Also stayed in the Brookside with our 2 young kids and Yorkie. Suite has no pets and my wife and teenagers loved the big tub. Because of covid they are more hands off and so the breakfast they give is all prepackaged snacks and apples. We didn't try the pub onsite. Overall it was a great value and we had an amazing weekend at Jiminy peak nearby and Williamstown.
The room was well-appointed and the beds were comfortable. The surfaces and the bathroom were very clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We appreciated the quiet location and liked the stream next to the property. We enjoyed our visit to the Clark Art Institute very much, which is why we chose to come to Williamstown.
We went to see the William College. The hotel is very close the school. Super convenient. People work in the hotel are super nice. Very helpful. They waited for us late at night. I forget my dress in the hotel, and they sent it back to me. That was very nice of them! I would definitely stay there next time I go to Williamstown.
One of our best stays ever. Nice spacious room, comfortable bed, plenty of space to hang clothes, very quiet, excellent bathroom and all brilliantly clean. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful, local information in the room was very useful and WiFi was strong and reliable.
Close enough to Williamstown centre to walk.
The location is excellent, and the location is central. The owners are very reliable and welcoming. It is friendly to all people, traveling alone, with a partner, or with a family. I know because I've stayed here many times, sometimes alone and sometimes with the family! The Williamstown Motel is excellent value for money!
Room was cute, bed comfortable, nice breakfast and breakfast area, 15 minutes from Jiminy Peak, 15 minutes from Williamstown. River behind property , the water running makes for a nice sound. They set up a firepit in the back. I did not use it but it was pretty. Basketball hoop in the back of property.
I am airline Pilot I travel often and stayed in many hotels and motels most are average. However I have to rank this above all .Not only is it very clean ,newly updated and flawless, the owners were very kind and professional. Thanks to the housekeepers that do a fantastic job. Vinni Bha Ji Great
Location excellent as it allowed for walking around the college campus as well as the little village shopping area. Such a clean place to stay coupled with all the appropriate updates. New hotel but it fit into the area in Williamstown.
The motel's room are very clean and located slightly off the road, so it is not terribly noisy. I liked the fact that it is pet-friendly (like many places in Williamstown). The motel's staff is very cordial and helpful.
The motel was great value. The staff was very friendly and kind. Their breakfast is better than that of hotels of its kind. They serve fresh berries, fruit, nuts, coconut water, as well as muffins, bagels and cereal.
A lovely motel in a great location. Williamstown is a stone throws away and you're on the scenic byway across the Berkshires into Vermont. Good quality beds, bathroom and a decent enough motel breakfast.
