My room was filthy. I had to wash the desk to put my stuff on it. There was stuff all over the walls. There was stuff on the carpet. The fridge made an awful noise all night. Honestly disappointed in the stay all together.

We have always stayed at the HJ and it is familiar
The 100 percent nonsmoking Quality Inn hotel is conveniently located in central Maine, just one mile from the Bangor Mall, which features many fine retail stores.

Location was great and it was a nice facility overall

Has a lot to offer with a big city feel. Lots of restaurants, stores and places to watch sports, movies, cultural events. Not too far from the ocean or places to ski in winter or swim in summer. Lots of great hotels/motels. Bangor even has an international airport that is fairly close and easy to get to. The various Bangor expressways are numerous and easy to get to. The highway department keeps them in excellent condition year round. Bangor even has a casino downtown.

We usually visit Bangor once or twice a year for cross-border shopping. Over the years it seems the number of stores have dwindled. The Bangor Mall has very few shops actually open and no food court left. We will think twice before returning to shop.
We always enjoy dining at Applebee's and had a great lobster roll at Chase's Restaurant.
We did enjoy visiting Stephen King's home and were very pleasantly surprised to find the Cole Family Land Transportation Museum only 3 mins from our accommodations. It is a very well-laid out museum with transportation items from bicycles, sleds and baby strollers to snow ploughs, fire trucks and farm equipment . . . even a pop-up tent trailer from 1925! Well worth a visit!

Breakfast was very well presented in a large dining area (so easy access to tables) with two servers for the hot food (sausages, scrambled eggs). Hotel is a little outdated, but it is very clean and the staff are very helpful.

Kind of hard to GPS but finally got used to it.
Kind of hard to GPS but finally got used to it. Fr Knox is a great tour and Paul Bunyan statue and Steven Kings house. Fun. Traffic downtown was a bit much to find a place to park and eat. Great Irish Bar at a hotel but I can't remember the name of it.

The highlight of our visit was the Galen Colen Veteran and Transportation museum. It has so much history of Bangor and from the WWII and the Korean War. My husband and I truly enjoy it. We highly recommend it.
I stayed here because I had to take an early morning flight from Bangor airport. The hotel is conveniently located 6 minutes by car from Bangor airport. Good breakfast and comfortable rooms, with all amenities neatly provided. They have a small gym and a pool for a quick workout. The manager is a fantastic person who is ready to assist in every situation. She made my stay memorable.
I stayed at this hotel because of the location. I had a 5 am flight and I could walk across the skywalk to the airport. I looked at other hotels in the area that were listed as airport hotels, but they did not have a shuttle service to the airport. I wasn’t sure about getting a taxi or an Uber that early in Bangor.
With a midnight arrival at BGR airport, we needed a good place to sleep before driving 50 miles to our home. Bangor Grande Hotel is 5 minutes from the terminal, with a shuttle and offers quiet, comfortable rooms. There was also a 25% discount for breakfast at the hotel.
it was clean, quiet, and affordable. Breakfast was one of the very best we’ve had at comparable priced hotels. The location is unbeatable, and right next to a nice place for dinner. The climate control in the room worked great.
There wasn't any breakfast, we were told that was due to Covid. Otherwise, we liked it a lot. Its an older hotel, but clean & comfortable. Its close to everything you can think of. We would definitely stay again when in Bangor
We were opposite the Paul Bunyan Statute that we didn't realise until after coming back from dinner! The hotel is clean, check in was fast and the room very comfortable. The only downside was the noisy heating system.
Staff and rooms are always good...just wish the hotel would consider mini fridge and microwave for rooms. Stayed at another hotel earlier this year that had both and made it nice so didn't have to travel with a cooler
Breakfast was fine, it’s what you would expect from a hotel in this category. What I appreciated the most, was getting to check in early after a red eye flight. The staff of amazing!
Out of all of our stops in Maine the hotel here was the cheapest. The staff was very friendly and the parking was free which is hard to come by in any of the busier places in Maine.
The room was what I expected from the description. It is definitely an older hotel and could use some updating, but it was very clean. Breakfast was great. Staff was very nice.
Did not have breakfast. Hotel location is great for our intended visit. Swimming pool water temp was good, area was nice and clean. Hotel room and hall was clean as well.
Everything was excellent. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast selection was excellent. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The hotel offered excellent value.
We loved that it was attached to the airport with an early morning flight. Easy to drop off a rental car and walk to the hotel. Bed was really comfortable.
