Staff was great. Hotel was very low grade.
Staff was great. Hotel was very low grade. Would not recommend or stay there again unless they overhaul the rooms and add breakfast or restaurant. I didn't have a car and am senior with disability for walking a distance. Not much around hotel to accommodate good service.

Even though I grew up in Rockford, I had never been to Elgin...
Even though I grew up in Rockford, I had never been to Elgin. It was very nice and had access to many places that we were going. We especially like the food at Jimmy's Charhouse, which is located next the hotel. Great food !!!!! We also attended a party at Pinstripes in South Barrington. A very nice place with lots of things to do.

The room we received was not good.
The room we received was not good. Holes in the wall above the bed where something was taken off. The refrigerator made all kinds of sounds but the worst was the bathroom- floor was not clean and there was some mold around and below the bathtub. They are remodeling I guess but no one told us. The pluses are the breakfast, some of the staff and the location.DON - 8.0Scored 8.0

Out of all the states that I drive through it amazes me that II you roll into Elgin you are almost guaranteed to be followed by a police officer if you make the mistake of stopping at a park or any place that's supposed to be recreational. To Serve and Protect does not apply here it seems to be harass and follow. Very unnerving when you're just trying to relax and enjoy the scenery of a beautiful Old City. The bike paths are beautiful as long as you can get dressed and get on your bike before hassled by the law. I will no longer make an attempt to visit any of the parks in this city.don't make the mistake of standing still for a few minutes too long it is considered loitering I was told by the local police at which point you'll be asked what you're doing in that one location.

There was supposed to be breakfast but they had no license to serve anything but coffee and tea! We paid for something that was NOT available like breakfast. People were coming down complaining about the condition of there rooms, like they were not made up from previous renters. My sinks light was out so I had to use it from a dark corner. I stayed a few days and the carpet in front of my door stayed littered with garbage.
