Full kitchens and a helpful staff. They had the best Gluten Free breakfast I have seen in any hotel. Udi’s muffins, and gluten free waffles on a separate waffle iron. The staff was helpful getting us rooms near each other as well.

Durango was great. The riverwalk through the heart of town is great - watch out for bicycles though! If you drive 2-3 hours in any direction you can see some of the most beautiful places in the country. North into the San Juan Mountains, East through the mountains to Great Sand Dunes, West to Mesa Verde, Arches, Canyonlands, and Monument Valley, and South to Santa Fe.

I lived in the Durango area for several years and had to move away. This was another revisit. The main attraction is the railroad. I have taken the Cascade run and it is a wonderful experience. I believe Durango has a good mix of acitivites for young and old. There are so many great restaurants and children appear to be welcome. It is a tourist town, yet I have always found that customer service is great wherever I go. There are galleries and books stores and toy stores. There is so much history to glean with exciting stories of the settlers and the miners in the area. Then of course, the outdoor activities are year round and endless. The mountain views are topped only by the ones in Ouray and Silverton in this area.

We liked The Office for dinner and live music. We were surprised we couldn’t find good Mexican food.

Cost of living went through the roof during/after the pandemic. Durango is experiencing a housing crisis. Stunning location and close to beautiful country. Spirit of the town has changed dramatically over the years. Spirit of the mountains and surrounding area is naturally the same. The town feels kinda fake.

A nice town. Touristy, but nice.
A nice town. Touristy, but nice. Great Hotel, older, small rooms, but very nice. Very close to D&SNGRR depot, so very handy for us. Nice town, but, perhaps a bit pricey overall. But, we knew were on vacation, and we certainly enjoyed our stay.
Location ideal for trip on DURANGO & Silverton railway being a 12 minute walk from terminus plus good to get in house breakfast. Enjoyed sitting on riverside terrace in the evening. Our allocated room was directly on the busy highway but on enquiry the desk clerk changed this without any fuss. Room was large, clean, well equipped and comfortable. On site parking was an additional bonus.
Spotless!! Our suite was clean and fully stocked with anything needed for a longer stay. Plenty of outlets for devices. The linens were good quality and the bed was very comfortable. The hot breakfast was good. The young woman breakfast attendant worked constantly to clean, refill coffee, creamers and food items.
Easy drive to downtown Durango from hotel.
Hosts were very friendly and helpful with information on the area. The breakfasts were excellent. The history of the house from the host was very entertaining. The location was far enough from the bustle of downtown Durango to be very quiet at night, but easy to walk to downtown so you didn't need to take your car and deal with trying to find parking downtown.
A fabulous iconic hotel centrally located next to the station. Beautifully furnished. Our room was very comfortable and the air conditioning unit effective and quiet. Bed comfortable and WiFi good.
Free coffee/tea available on landings and reception as it is not in the bedrooms (not always full and hot).. Excellent quality coffee.
Booking.com made several errors with my reservation, however, the hotel staff were very accommodating and managed to fix the mistakes, even though one room was more expensive and several rooms away. The rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast was okay. The staff was super!
The check-in was quick and easy, friendly staff. Hotel was clean and comfortable and in a safe area. Close to downtown Durango and Animas river.
Breakfast was good, lots of choices.
Fresh baked cookies in the afternoon and fresh popped popcorn til 10pm.
Great price and conveniently located near all the events we went to. A few minutes down the road is downtown for a good shopping trip or a bit farther up the road is Durango Hot Springs for some outdoor relaxation time!
Staff were friendly. It was a Monday night and we had a top floor room that was big and quiet. 5 minute trip into Durango so a quiet area by highway with shops nearby. Durango is beautiful and well worth a visit.
Overall I loved the style of the hotel and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is very close to the historic downtown and walking distance to many terrific restaurants/shops.
The staff were super kind. I liked their breakfast selection also the hotel pool and gym was quiet well. The location was perfect only 3min by car away from the Durango to Silverton Train
Our rooms were clean and comfortable!
Breakfast was amazing, staff were helpful, Friendly and accommodating!
Great ambassadors for Durango city!
We will stay here every visit!
The room was clean and comfortable. We liked the access from the outside so we could step outside the door and walk into town. The location in downtown Durango was perfect.
Proximity - Right on the river and close to historic downtown. Despite the hotel shortcomings, the staff member mentioned previously did seem very pleasant.
Convenient location 5 minutes from downtown Durango. Clean room. Nice layout with large bathroom and cute sitting area. Appreciated having hulu on the tv.
