Updated, quiet, calm, and clean property fitting the chill Truckee vibes. Kids will love all the hot breakfast options as well as the sunny pool/spa plaza. Most of the staff was friendly or even exceptional. We had a few problems with room keys and a noise issue (not their fault) that staff kindly resolved. Walking distance to a few restaurants. On-site laundry and general store provided exceptional convenience. Heater & a/c worked perfectly. Lots of room to spread out on-site, including a generous Cafe area, library/sunroom, and lovely interior courtyard. 10/10 would stay again.

Nice property. Good location. Rooms are nice, but the inability to control lights individually was an issue. My husband was in Truckee for a medical procedure. The lighting in the room cannot be controlled individually, so if the lights are on in the sitting room they are also nice and bright in the sleeping area. Bathroom the same. We had a pet room and the carpets were very dirty. Good breakfast, depending on staff shift, most were helpful. Expensive for what it was and $100 pet deposit. Probably wouldn’t choose again.

My recent stay was an absolute delight from start to finish. Everything was impeccably maintained, and it was evident that cleanliness and hygiene were top priorities for the hosts. Each morning, I looked forward to indulging in a hearty meal that featured locally sourced ingredients and homemade delights.

The city of Truckee is very charming. You have the old Truckee down town, with restaurants, museums and all kinds of store to buy souvenirs and merchandise. Then you have the new Truckee down town that have grocery stores, banks, pet hospitals and more restaurants. The bike path along the river is vantastic, you can ride a long distance or short distance. Beautiful pine trees with the river running thru it. Alpine bliss.

We loved Truckee much more than the busy areas around Lake Tahoe. Truckee is a charming little village. We had really good brunch in town followed by quite an amazing hike around the Donner Summit and the Mount Judah Loop trail. Absolutely loved the Donner lake and all the little rivers and mountains around town.

If you want to get away from the city, but you aren't sure you want the touristy crowds of Lake Tahoe, then come to Truckee and Donner Lake. A great downtown area with restaurants and shops, but not overdone. Endless hiking trails and running streams/rivers everywhere (this was early June). I will be headed back to Truckee every year to breathe and relax and watch both the sunsets and the stars.

Very understaffed no one at the front desk for most of the time we were there. We arrive for breakfast at 9 AM and they said eggs would be done in a few minutes, we waited 20 no eggs were ever made we had very little food for breakfast and they were screaming kids everywhere. There were crumbs and rainbow sprinkles all over the floor and the place was dirty. Sadly I can’t say I would ever recommend this to anyone anyone because there are simply not enough staff to accommodate all of the gas that showed up and paid for a service that they did not get.

We go to Truckee usually a couple of times a year and really enjoy the small town feel. The shops are of good quality clothes and home decor. We have had great times shopping there and look forward to finding cool items. There are several cafes, bars/restaurants, and cantinas to choose from within a 4 block stretch as well.
We did not ended up going since the road was blocked for several days starting from the 1st day of stay and there's no other ways for us to reach there. It was out of our control. We notified the hotel right away. It was an expensive 4 nights trip that we fully paid for that we were not able to use. The hotel would absolutely not allow us any rescheduling, credit or future discount despite us pleading multiple times. Did not expect that from a high end hospitality service.
The place is warm, lovely and cozzy. It's really close to Northstar, if you're planning to park in carpool free parking lot, that would be the best. Kitchen has all equipments, and lots of utensils, even for little kids. There are also lots of toys, board games and books for kids. Kids never felt board and parents also enjoyed a relaxing time. We had an excellent vacation here. We all love it and would love to visit the place again.
EVERYTHING!!! If I could give a higher rating I would! My sister and I went on a little "girls getaway", and we had an absolutely fantastic time, due in large part to our accommodations! The manager, Ben, and his entire staff (including Patricia and Lorenzo in the breakfast area!) were absolutely AWESOME and went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests! I cannot wait to stay there again :0)
We stayed here in Feb. The location was amazing. Very close to Tahoe Donner activities, close to downtown Truckee. The open backyard provided us a ton of snow to play in at our convenience. The house was wonderful. Plenty of seating if you happen to be entertaining. Everything we needed for a four night stay! It was also refreshing to not have to go through a long checklist upon checkout!
The fact that the place was sober with hardwood floors and contemporary. Good layout and possibility to have a workspace in the upstairs with out disturbing the others. Good natural lighting in the house. High ceilings. Warm atmosphere during day time. Like the sledges in the garage. Cool space and cool house! Just 7mn from main action in Truckee, yet quiet.
Love this boutique hotel. The rooms are well appointed, clean and feel like you are in the mountains. The property is walkable to downtown Truckee, and easy driving distance to skiing and Lake Tahoe. The restaurant serves a great breakfast and they have a small bar which serves drinks next to a fireplace in the evening. We'll definitely stay here again!
Close to Tahoe Donner ski slopes and Truckee downtown and the restaurants. I think this hotel is underrated. It had all that we could ask for and was a bit cheaper than other options around here. Wifi was good, breakfast is the standard basic fare but works for us.
Great location close to downtown Truckee. Breakfast was really good with attendants who were on it and made sure to keep the breakfast area clean and items restocked. Small gym with a Peloton, treadmill, elliptical and dumbbells (5-50 lbs).
Comfortable rooms and easy access to parking. I really enjoyed getting breakfast both mornings at Stella, food was great! Location was also great for skiing Northstar both days and getting food in Truckee at night.
Location near Truckee center and skiing. Clean and spacious. Visually pleasant. Good place for the family to congregate during the holidays with nice fireplace and easy cooking area.
Big room, hygienic and ok bathroom (bit old, but all worked fine). Hotel felt safe, kind staff and delicious breakfast. Nice location: short drive to Reno or Lake Tahoe.
Breakfast was absolutely amazing. The best one I’ve had in a hotel in the US so far.
They have an outdoor area very nice with a fire place. Friendly staff!
