Updated, quiet, calm, and clean property fitting the chill Truckee vibes. Kids will love all the hot breakfast options as well as the sunny pool/spa plaza. Most of the staff was friendly or even exceptional. We had a few problems with room keys and a noise issue (not their fault) that staff kindly resolved. Walking distance to a few restaurants. On-site laundry and general store provided exceptional convenience. Heater & a/c worked perfectly. Lots of room to spread out on-site, including a generous Cafe area, library/sunroom, and lovely interior courtyard. 10/10 would stay again.
Located 3 mi from West End Beach Park, this Truckee, California hotel features an outdoor pool and hot tub. Truckee Donner Lodge offers comfortable rooms with a flat-screen satellite TV.

Nice property. Good location. Rooms are nice, but the inability to control lights individually was an issue. My husband was in Truckee for a medical procedure. The lighting in the room cannot be controlled individually, so if the lights are on in the sitting room they are also nice and bright in the sleeping area. Bathroom the same. We had a pet room and the carpets were very dirty. Good breakfast, depending on staff shift, most were helpful. Expensive for what it was and $100 pet deposit. Probably wouldn’t choose again.

My recent stay was an absolute delight from start to finish. Everything was impeccably maintained, and it was evident that cleanliness and hygiene were top priorities for the hosts. Each morning, I looked forward to indulging in a hearty meal that featured locally sourced ingredients and homemade delights.

The city of Truckee is very charming. You have the old Truckee down town, with restaurants, museums and all kinds of store to buy souvenirs and merchandise. Then you have the new Truckee down town that have grocery stores, banks, pet hospitals and more restaurants. The bike path along the river is vantastic, you can ride a long distance or short distance. Beautiful pine trees with the river running thru it. Alpine bliss.

We loved Truckee much more than the busy areas around Lake Tahoe. Truckee is a charming little village. We had really good brunch in town followed by quite an amazing hike around the Donner Summit and the Mount Judah Loop trail. Absolutely loved the Donner lake and all the little rivers and mountains around town.

If you want to get away from the city, but you aren't sure you want the touristy crowds of Lake Tahoe, then come to Truckee and Donner Lake. A great downtown area with restaurants and shops, but not overdone. Endless hiking trails and running streams/rivers everywhere (this was early June). I will be headed back to Truckee every year to breathe and relax and watch both the sunsets and the stars.

Very understaffed no one at the front desk for most of the time we were there. We arrive for breakfast at 9 AM and they said eggs would be done in a few minutes, we waited 20 no eggs were ever made we had very little food for breakfast and they were screaming kids everywhere. There were crumbs and rainbow sprinkles all over the floor and the place was dirty. Sadly I can’t say I would ever recommend this to anyone anyone because there are simply not enough staff to accommodate all of the gas that showed up and paid for a service that they did not get.

We go to Truckee usually a couple of times a year and really enjoy the small town feel. The shops are of good quality clothes and home decor. We have had great times shopping there and look forward to finding cool items. There are several cafes, bars/restaurants, and cantinas to choose from within a 4 block stretch as well.
Very good place to stay when looking for active vacation with the kids in Truckee area. The hotel was comfortable, well equipped and in reasonable reach to all major sites we wanted to visit incl. Lake Tahoe. Breakfast was good and we were also positively surprised by the level of window noise isolation (our windows were just above the highway but no way to figure that out by it's noise, it was really silent).
Having been “avalanched” 10 miles away from this hotel, we were on our way back to Reno, 40 miles away, in order to fly back home. This clean and well organized hotel was the right stop for that. Being unable to travel to Reno, on 03/02/23 morning (no cab, no Uber, no bus…maybe a train) we were carried there by the night shift manager…who was returning home. Unforgettable
A modern mix of rustic and industrial feel that is so in vouge now. We selected the executive studio and was amazed at the size and accommodations over all - more than any couple would ever need. Truckee is a 5 mile distance so a vehicle would be needed to fully experience all that the area offers - which is quite a lot. Great jump point for Lake Tahoe as well.
The location was great for skiing. The village was lacking a good place to hang out in the evening after dinner hours. The food prices were insane, but to be expected at the village, although they weren’t any better when we went to Truckee.
Parking the car underground near our place was great, and not being charged extra was even better.
The location was very quiet and surrounded by nature—I was woken up by the sound of birds singing, which was really nice. The unit was very spacious for two people and had every amenity you could need during your stay. The hot tub and sauna in the fitness/spa was great to use at the end of the day after a very long drive out to Truckee.
Close to Tahoe Donner ski slopes and Truckee downtown and the restaurants. I think this hotel is underrated. It had all that we could ask for and was a bit cheaper than other options around here. Wifi was good, breakfast is the standard basic fare but works for us.
Location is good, rooms are standard as any hotel like this.
Breakfast is very limited, some pancake machine and oatmeal with yogurts is what you need to expect.
Heater was working fine, all good there.
good value
closeness to Palisades
closeness to downtown Truckee
nice brewpub nextdoor
groceries and food also nextdoor and there's more just a short walk
A lovely one-night stay in the Truckee/Tahoe area. Our dinner at Stella was quite good and the room was comfortable and clean. We would stay here again.
