The hotel was in an excellent location and the town of Mariposa has lots of places to eat and interesting shops. It is also very convenient for visting Yosemite National Park. We were able to park easily for free in the road right outside the hotel.

The location was great for visiting Yosemite. The staff was really nice and gave me an update on the weather for visiting the national park nearby. The room was a great size for two people!
There were two sets of ear plugs which in wasn’t expecting.
Check in and check out were a breeze! The water pressure was great with really warm water!

Mariposa is a nice country town with good range of shops, services and food options for its size (including a supermarket), even in our early spring visiting time. This is due to its proximity to Yosemite NP about 70km away (our reason for visiting). If using the YARTs bus service to access the park its a great base.

Mariposa is about as close you can get to Yosemite without staying in the park, but it's still an hour drive from the valley. This is fine if you're visiting the park for 1 or 2 days, but after 2 days, you'll definitely have had enough of the driving. The town itself is very cute and has tons of nice places to eat. There is also a very large supermarket.

Mariposa is a small town, nothing much to see.
Mariposa is a small town, nothing much to see. We stayed there to visit Yosemite. But Mariposa has no mobile coverage, Had we known that beforehand, we'd have stayed in Yosemite village, inside the park, which has good mobile coverage.

Great little town, very hot in the summer.
Great little town, very hot in the summer. Near the Yosemite Park entrance that is closest to Yosemite Valley. It is historic with several nice shops and restaurants. Check out The Grove House for a great selection of Micro Brews and great food. Excellent mixed drinks and live music as well! Stay here if you don't want to spend over $400.00 a night!
The room was very comfortable, quiet, and clean. Walking distance to many restaurants. Very good value, especially mid-week in November. It was nice to have a refrigerator and microwave. Keep the fridge on a not-to-cold setting like 2 though because it froze my subway sandwich when I set it higher! The Wi-Fi was very good. The staff were very nice and helpful. Mariposa is a charming town and a great stop on the way to much more expensive lodging that is closer to Yosemite.
Clean, and comfortable
Ruth Ann and family looked after us so well
Helped plan our trips to Yosemite - when to leave so as to get parking, which hikes make sense based on your experience, how to divide up the days to make the most efficient use of the time we had. Gave us the low down on establishments in Mariposa.
Customized and yummy breakfasts considering our dietary restrictions and a packed test edger day really spoiled us.
We felt like visiting our granparents. You get all the details you can need for your trip to Yosemite, a delicious home made breakfast and even snacks to take on your hike. The room we stayed in was comfy and had a microwave and a fridge. It was perfectly clean. The location is great, near to Mariposa but secluded enough that you can enjoy the peace and quiet. It truly felt like a home away from home.
Really lovely cabin for our family of five, 20 minutes outside Mariposa. (Pioneer market there is amazing and had everything we needed to stock up) We drove to Yosemite in under an hour in mid December. Fireplace and spa were lovely in the cold wet weather. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are super comfortable. The new bathroom in the upstairs parent retreat is great.
Kind, helpful owners will provide anything you may reasonably need. Charming place in the wild. Direct contact with nature: there are groups of wild animals wandering around in nearest proximity to the house. Amazing view at the hills.
Besides, good WiFi, coffee machine in the room with a wide selection of coffee and tea types, fridge and microwave.
We used this hotel as our base for travelling in and out of Yosemite for our holiday. Good price for the area. Plenty of nearby shops. Staff were friendly, room was large, clean and comfortable. Washer and dryer available for $2-$2.50 each which was great as we were backpacking. Free breakfast was a great bonus to fuel up for hiking in Yosemite.
Beautiful countryside environment, especially in the late Spring. Lovely to take a walk before a delectable breakfast. Easy access, 45 minutes, to Yosemite by car. Local town of Mariposa has several museums and historical interest. Inn is homey, not ostentatious, comfortable, great library. Staff and owner most hospitable.
River Rock Inn looks like it has been converted into sleep-outs from what were once horse stables. There is no breakfast included in the booking cost. Our room was overly expensive compared to the other approximately 80 hotels and motels that I stayed in during my tour of the USA. I would not recommend this Inn.
The hotel location was very close to Yosemite. It is a plus. The town is small and boring. Nothing much to do.
The receptionists were very nice. The room is ok. (it is a small town so can't compare with big cities). If I go back to visit Yosemite again, I will stay in this hotel again.
Convenience to the town of Mariposa. Comfort of the house with the kitchen stocked with items I needed to cook as far as utensils, pots and pans. The drive to Yosemite was not far at all
Being able to relax after the day trips to Yosemite.
near to Yosemite National Park, huge parking lot, nice staff, shopping opportunity at the reception, good breakfast, spacious room, we specifically requested a quiet room in advance and the staff fulfilled our request, so it's a big plus
Special place located in a resourceful town with special places to eat, shop and explore.
5th Street Inn is a luxury around camps and standard hotel rooms. 100 recommended to Yosemite park visitors that look for comfort. Feels like home
Clean. Comfortable bed which is most important
Prices were a lot more reasonable compared to nearby hotels.
Plenty of towels and a krueg for coffee and tea.
Great breakfast included with plenty to choose from.
Amazing breakfast. Location is great. Although the hotel seems a little far from The Valley, it’s actually a pleasant short drive, and really close to the Mariposa town, a very beautiful little place.
Ideal location within Mariposa and to catch the YARTS to Yosemite. The room had a characterful vintage and quality fittings, and was provided very clean
