The hotel was in an excellent location and the town of Mariposa has lots of places to eat and interesting shops. It is also very convenient for visting Yosemite National Park. We were able to park easily for free in the road right outside the hotel.

Mariposa is a nice country town with good range of shops, services and food options for its size (including a supermarket), even in our early spring visiting time. This is due to its proximity to Yosemite NP about 70km away (our reason for visiting). If using the YARTs bus service to access the park its a great base.

Mariposa is about as close you can get to Yosemite without staying in the park, but it's still an hour drive from the valley. This is fine if you're visiting the park for 1 or 2 days, but after 2 days, you'll definitely have had enough of the driving. The town itself is very cute and has tons of nice places to eat. There is also a very large supermarket.

The Day and Night Staff were very kind and helpful, everything was clean and functional, and you CANNOT beat the natural beauty a short distance away. Yosemite is a national treasure for good reason. :)

Mariposa is a small town, nothing much to see.
Mariposa is a small town, nothing much to see. We stayed there to visit Yosemite. But Mariposa has no mobile coverage, Had we known that beforehand, we'd have stayed in Yosemite village, inside the park, which has good mobile coverage.

Great little town, very hot in the summer.
Great little town, very hot in the summer. Near the Yosemite Park entrance that is closest to Yosemite Valley. It is historic with several nice shops and restaurants. Check out The Grove House for a great selection of Micro Brews and great food. Excellent mixed drinks and live music as well! Stay here if you don't want to spend over $400.00 a night!
From check-in to check-out, my father and I had a great experience at this motel. We were frantic to book a location that was able to accommodate last minute requests after our original booking with another hotel fell through the cracks. Miner's Inn gave us a room and I wished we had originally heard about this place first. The Lady at the desk was very nice and helpful. The room was bigger than I had originally expected and clean for a motel. I'm definitely coming back here next time I go to Yosemite.
Christine, the owner, seemed very sweet and answered all our questions.
The atmosphere of the Little Valley Inn is quite layed back and the cabins are located in a charming spot of nature.
We read about the breakfast, which indeed was really enjoyable and much appreciated.
The place is not very close to the Yosemite Valley main entrance but has the advantage of being closer the Mariposa Grove one. I recommend.
We felt like visiting our granparents. You get all the details you can need for your trip to Yosemite, a delicious home made breakfast and even snacks to take on your hike. The room we stayed in was comfy and had a microwave and a fridge. It was perfectly clean. The location is great, near to Mariposa but secluded enough that you can enjoy the peace and quiet. It truly felt like a home away from home.
Beautiful house with stunning views. Well located near Yosemite, and Mariposa town is lovely, just a short drive away with a nice variety of restaurants. Margaret and Charlie were absolutely lovely and so accommodating, and had a wealth of knowledge of the parks and the local area! They communicated throughout via WhatsApp which was very helpful and reassuring. Could not recommend this place more!
Really lovely cabin for our family of five, 20 minutes outside Mariposa. (Pioneer market there is amazing and had everything we needed to stock up) We drove to Yosemite in under an hour in mid December. Fireplace and spa were lovely in the cold wet weather. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are super comfortable. The new bathroom in the upstairs parent retreat is great.
Two female friends traveling together and we were very conscious of safety/security everywhere we stayed during our trip. We felt completely comfortable at the Monarch Inn and throughout Mariposa. Was the perfect gateway to Yosemite for long days of hiking. Comfortable beds and clean showers - well lit back parking lot, and entryways. We were glad we booked!
We stayed at the 5th Street Inn on our way to Yosemite where we had booked a two night stay at the Ahwahnee Hotel. Our room at the 5th Street Inn was more comfortable than the Ahwahnee. The service, while mostly handled remotely, was excellent; on a par with what I expected from the Ahwahnee. They even had a coffee maker in the room.
The place was in a good location. The town of Mariposa is really quaint with lots of good food choices and cute little places to shop. Bed comfort so so and cleanliness so so. The free breakfast had the same fruit(apple) every day and packaged blueberry muffin. Would have been nice to have a little more variety.
Room is so nice. Well laid out. We had a room at the back and it was quiet and we could park right by our door so it was easy to bring our suitcase into the room. Location convenient close to nice restaurants. Breakfast area really clean and lots of choices. We would recommend this hotel.
Good position close to the Yosemite National Park. Markets, gas station an other services available near to the location. We found chocolate and wine upon arrival. But the best point is a very good barbecue to cook our ribeyes as well as backed potatoes!
We got a quiet room on the second floor, as we have requested. The hotel is well located, and Mariposa is a nice little town with its own character. Breakfast offered enough variety of food. The staff was friendly
The hotel was great, had everything we needed. Room large and comfortable. Breakfast room was a bonus
Loved Mariposa too, great place to stay and much better value than staying in Yosemite
Marion was the sweetest person. Very thoughtful and caring for us. The location in Mariposa is perfect and 1 hour away from the park. The hotel was a vintage style that my wife loved.
Location is about an hour to Yosemite, but its very private and peaceful, not right next to the shoulder of the street. Center of Mariposa is about 5 minutes drive from the location.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, clean rooms. I’ve stayed at a few other motels/hotels in Mariposa before, but BW is by far better than the local hotels/motels.
