Tromsø is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting,...

Tromsø is breathtaking and definitely worth visiting, regardless of if you're chasing the polar lights, or just want to explore the city and the area during the day. The city is in close touch with nature and offers variety of different activities. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is going there during the Easter holidays (as I did), since a lot of stores, museums, restaurants, etc. tend to be closed.

Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink.

Tromso is nice town with plenty of places to eat and drink. The restaurants offer a mixture of cuisine including local delicacies. There are a reasonable amount of shops offering local goods. It is an easy walk across the bridge to visit the Cable Car, definitely worth a visit to enjoy spectacular views. We arranged for a Northern Lights Tour which was fantastic. A comfortable, luxury coach drove us an hour outside of Tromso to an area with no light pollution, we had perfect weather so did not have to move on as the Northern Lights offered us the most wonderful light show for a four hour period. We were supplied with Hot Chocolate & cookies which kept us warm. The driver would have driven to another location if the weather had not been clear but on this occasion it was not necessary.

    Tromsø is an amazing city.

Tromsø is an amazing city. It’s not as small as one may think.. has the right amount of grocery stores, cafés, bars etc. Quite a good nightlife, lots of young students/ tourists around so you’re never alone during solo travel! Tourism and guided activities are exceptional, they provide all the equipment, meals (in some cases) and transportation. Overall you will never be bored in Tromsø, I reccomend everyone to visit even if you’re not a sporty person there’s an activity for every fitness level.

I had a day there at the start and end of my holiday. Packed in quite a bit of sightseeing. The Troll Museum is a must visit! Delicious king crab platter at Dragoy. Saw the Northern Lights from the top of the cable car.

Tromso is in the middle of aurora ring.

Tromso is in the middle of aurora ring. We are here just for northern light. During our visit in March, all road is damped and muddy, not easy to get around. Find a place to stay in warm weather for watching aurora. Getting to mountain by cable car is my favorite activity to see Tromso at night with aurora.

Great, convenient location. The city bus from the airport comes very nearby and you can walk anywhere in the town center. We even walked to the cruise terminal - a bit of a longer walk but perfectly doable. Breakfast was very nice with lots of options (cereal, eggs, bread, cold cuts, yogurt, granola, fruit). The seating area at breakfast has a beautiful view through the very large front windows. The hotel was fairly busy during our stay because of the cruise ships but the staff seemed well prepared.

Room was tiny, but I booked a single room, so it wasn't a huge surprise. The main floor of the hotel is comfortable and welcoming. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. The main pros of the hotel for me were the central location and the breakfast. The location is right in the middle of Tromso center, near the water, tons of restaurants, shops and bus stops convenient to the airport and other destinations. The breakfast was fantastic - tons of options and well organized.

Everything about this hotel is jest perfect. This hotel located about 1.5 kilometers from the center, just next to a forest and a spring. That is the perfect place to watch northern lights, and to enjoy the nature. The place is very clean, and has everything human being needs. The stuff is very kind and pleasant to talk to. They helped me whenever I needed their help and even guided me how to catch the northern lights. Definitely, The best hotel have ever been to.

Liked everything! Comfy beds, large bath, washing machine, dishwasher, towels, bedding, all superb! Best part was Nils who served well above and beyond call of duty and deftly solved two of our glaring logistical issues. Should I say that he picked us up and delivered us and our luggage to a hotel to hold the bags and then to our destination in town when we found ourselves in a bit of a conundrum. Nils is an outstanding ambassador for Norway should get a raise immediately!

The bed and room was comfortable, no complaints there. The breakfast was also nice, but really enjoyed the tea & cake hour as well as a light dinner, all included! The staff was helpful and pleasant and we had no issues. The best part of the hotel is the sauna and jacuzzi on the roof with a great view of the water! The hotel is also centrally located in Tromso to provide a good location to walk to any museums, activities, and restaurants there!

Small rooms but hey, who is spending much time in the hotel room when you are visiting Tromso? This hotel is super close to the airport which was convenient for me because I was flying to Svalbard the next day. The hotel also has a cool bar area with an awesome view that serves alcohol till about 2:30. Which is great if you are adjusting to time zones and can’t sleep.

Above a bakery - ideal for breakfast; early morning prep and ovens very quiet. Nice views of the harbour and redeveloped slipway from our room. Not too close or too far away from the centre or supermarket. Very close to great public transport - bus #42 from airport stops 1 min walk from property - use tromso bus app. For Norway it was great value in September 2022

Hotel was in a great location to restaurants, shops, bars and pickup for excursions. The view from the breakfast room was incredible. Though most of the reviews praised the breakfast for being the best in Norway, it had a wide variety of options available, but not all were great. Coffee was great. Reception staff were friendly and accommodating.

My stay at 3ART was spectacular. It felt like home far from home. It is outside Tromsø, perfect to have some quiet time, relax, and enjoy the scenery, and also a great spot to see the Northern Lights. The house is fully equipped and very clean. Signe, the host, gave us a very warm welcome and assisted in any questions I had. Thank you, Signe!

That we got our money back for the northern lights chasing tour when it got canceled because there was no chance to see it. It was 100% cloudy everywhere. And we asked for a double bed for the second part of our stay (we went to an other hotel in between) but they arranged a double bed immediatly for us.
