Beautiful and historical UNESCO world heritage city.

Beautiful and historical UNESCO world heritage city. Definitely must to visit place. Food and accommodation is more expensive than in Oslo. You should well plan your visit. I recommend you to take walking tour with guide from the Museum

The town was bustling in the evening with lots of folks out and about, dining and shopping. We were looking for authentic Norwegian food that we did not find. There were a few musicians playing in the evening which was nice. We also thought the food was pricy compared with other cities in Norway.

This is one of the few, and an exceptionally lovely example, of an historic town of wooden houses that I have ever seen. Walks in the town are a treat for the eyes, and there are several hotels, restaurants and other businesses in historic buildings as well. I don't recall identifying a single modern building among the several historic area blocks that I explored, There is an unobtrusive, small, modern mall nearby. The region also has lovely, wide valleys and high, rounded hilltops. It's all a delight.

We went to the main museum which was housed in the former smelting works. It was very informative and the audio guide was helpful, talking you through in considerable detail the various mining processes. At the time we visited (mid June) there was only one guided tour each day at the mine which is 13 km from Roros and this did not fit with our schedule. Apart from this main museum there was not a lot else to see once you have walked up and down the two main historic streets. We were irritated to have to pay to go into the church . I never like this.

Visiting in January meant that the window for tourist things being open was quite short. Husky sled excursion with Husky Point Roros was fabulous. I wanted to take the Olav's Mine tour and the walking tour of the town but would have had to stay an additional day. The museum about mining was wonderful. Being a UNESCO World Heritage site, the town is worth visiting for that reason alone.

Its a beautiful little town and the historical attractions are fascinating. I would go there again. Local produce - reindeer meat is on offer and is quite delicious. The drive to Roros is beautiful - watch for the stops at waterfalls.

The hotel was unique in a way that appealed to us. Our room was huge, clean and comfortable. It had a small balcony. Each room looked like it would be different. The lobby, bar and dining area were like stepping back into another time. The dining room was pricey but looked good. Unfortunately they were too busy to accommodate us. Breakfast was very good. Walking around the small town was charming. We will stay here again if we get a chance.

We spent two nights there to explore Roros. The house is from the 1700s, so don't expect the same level of comfort as in a typical hotel, but the atmosphere of the place, the great location right in the old center and the friendliness and helpfulness of Ellen, the owner, and her staff made more than up for this. We will definitely recommend Froyas Hus to all our friends who will travel there and come back one day ourselves.

This is a listed historic building in the centre of old Røros and has immense charm and character. The apartment is first rate: spotless, well- equipped, comfortable and cosy. Communication with the owners was excellent and they responded positively to our queries. Røros itself is fascinating and very pretty and we learned much about the extraordinary history of the copper mining and smelting industry during our stay.

Very nice country-style hotel with many amenities. About 5 minutes' walk from the historic city center and Røros Museum. There's a big hiking map in front of the hotel entrance, so if you're into hiking, you can jump right in. Comfy, spaceous room. Very friendly night manager at the front desk who offered me coffee and had a nice chat with me at 5 in the morning on departure day.

It‘s a unique experience with your family to feel how the life was 100 years and more ago. The communication from the owner was as well perfect and you had felt already before, that the stay will be perfect, but it was much more. The location Røros is for me an unknown treasure at Norway. Art visits history at Røros and this is immediately seen in the streets.

I couldn't have asked for a better location in Røros. The apartment is is a traditional wooden house on the main street and is appropriately and delightfully decorated inside. The kitchen is well-equipped and most of the facilities are of high-quality. I wanted to stay longer just to spend more time in this place!

The breakfast was outstanding. The guests were not numerous but several were very friendly. The location is perfect. Røros is a World Heritage Site and we want to come back, though I hear it gets very cold in the winter. We will stick with summer visits. We had perfect weather. The car show was fun.

Very fresh and clean. Well furnished apartment. Very quiet area. Hosts are very friendly and helpful. A nice feature was the twin beds were firmer than most we found in Norway. We were able to see semi-wild reindeer in a field close by. Close to the border with Sweden.

I liked the pool and the location. The hotel is located not in the centre but close it which means you are near the ski routes as well as the centre. The pool is new and very modern and nice. Very equipped. Nice experience. Many children.

Really nice and low pillows, not like the typical hotel pillows I cannot use. Would love to know where you got these! We arrived just before midnight and the staff made arrangements for us - really helpful. Good breakfast.

Central location (which is not difficult in the small place like Røros), strong local vibe, friendly stuff. The place was well heated which was an absolute must in harsh winter conditions.
