Location is fantastic, breakfast could not have been better and room was small for the price with little space to hang clothes. View from the room was great. I would definitely come again and recommend this hotel to my friends.

The hotel was generally very clean — although I smelled smoke many times while I was on the property, including in elevators. The bed was super comfortable, my room was spacious, and I got complimentary drinking water.

Spreading for hundreds of miles from the mouth of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the largest city by area in Europe and is liberally covered in pristine forests rising up into the outlying hills. South of the unassuming city hall lies a vibrant waterfront known as Aker Brygge, which in summer is full of bustling outdoor restaurants and bars.
For the prettiest buildings head to affluent inner-city suburbs of Frogner and Fagerborg, or admire the traditional Scandinavian wooden houses of Bygdøy and Holmenkollen. Monumental buildings include the Royal Palace which runs daily tours and the Akershus Festning, which is a medieval castle that also served as a military base and provides impressive views of the Oslofjord. Oslo City Hall, or rådhus, offers even more distinctive architecture and it is the location of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.
Nature is never far away in Oslo which is ringed by an archipelago of islands which are extremely popular in summer. Hiking, kayaking and sailing are all easily achievable within the city limits. Just as popular are the many museums. The national Museum houses Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream and Viking Ship Museum containing long-lost relics from Norway’s Viking past.
From downtown Sentrum to the Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the stunning statues in Frogner Park, Booking.com has over 80 hotels and other accommodations available.
What a great city! I hope to come back again someday.
What a great city! I hope to come back again someday. Lovely people, lots of great walking areas. Excellent infrastructure for travellers (easy train transport from the airport to downtown); the tram was easy to take as a foreigner. Food was delicious everywhere we went. We were especially impressed with the Comfort Hotel Børsparken.

Oslo is the capital of Norway, but it doesn't feel like a busy city where everyone is in a hurry to go to work or study. There are several local museums to suit all tastes. The presence of several large parks and the option to go to nature by public transport makes Oslo an ideal city trip location for me.

Oslo was very nice- we went in March.
Oslo was very nice- we went in March. I would recommend to go more in the summer as a lot of activities were closed still and we had rainy weather. The city was very quiet, but also very expensive, so it is not a budget-friendly holiday destination!
The saunas were very nice- I would highly recommend. We also went to Well spa, a short bus ride away which was an unforgettable experience.

Such a beautifully clean and safe city.
Such a beautifully clean and safe city. So much history, creativity, design and art is evident throughout this city. I have never felt more safe in a city than I did here. I wish I had more time to enjoy the tourist activities. It is also a foodies haven, so many fabulous options. The city is quite walkable and transit seems like a great alternative. I did not encounter anyone who could not or did not speak English. The people were friendly. The only downfall, it is a very expensive city. The waterfront was my favourite place to spend any leisure time I had. Don't take a taxi from the airport if you can help it, there is a train that goes from the airport right into the central station in Oslo - apparently much faster, cheaper and more convenient. I will know for next time.
Great location with a few spots to unload luggage in front of the hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly. The gym in the basement was clean, spacious and had good equipment. The room was clean and comfy, with large floor to ceiling windows. The breakfast was what nudged our rating up to a 9. The breakfast room was large and airy. The breakfast itself was of high quality with so many options. We splurged on a 5 star breakfast at the Britannia in Trondheim later in the trip and both agreed that the Karl Johan was better.
The Grand Hotel is a beautiful old hotel perfectly located walking distance to nearly everything. The staff is very nice, dealing with an impossible situation with grace and understanding. Our room was recently refreshed and very nice except we could not see out the window due to scaffolding. The bed was comfortable . At night our room was quiet. I think if construction was not happening my review would be very good. But I have to rate the hotel based on my personal experience.
There is an excellent breakfast buffet and in a country like Norway where restaurant food is expensive, this was a great feature. As well, we had a twin bedroom which was in a remodeled part of the hostel and had its own shower and toilet for an extra $15. The hostel is on the No. 17 tram from the RR station so, aside from the 5-8min walk to get there, it is actually quite convenient. I must add that Thor and the other desk staff were always very friendly and helpful!
the location: it was right in the middle of everything - close to the parliament, royal palace, shops, street food, aker bridge, train station (within minutes by foot). even though it is in the center, the street is quiet, right behind Grand Hotel.
the breakfast - diverse and amazing. whether you like eggs, fruits, pancakes, sweets, cheese, cutlery - you have everything
the room is quite large, sot beds and the temperature just right.
Location of hotel was vey nice and peaceful with quick easy tram link to the city centre, the hotel was extremely clean and very stylish and had a boutique feel to it, the breakfast and dinner was of excellent quality and choice thoroughly enjoyed it all and you could have as much as you liked. All the staff were very warm, kind friendly and helpful. The room although a little dated was comfortable and clean as was the bed.
Best part of the hotel was the INCREDIBLE breakfast buffet. The selection of foods was incredible. Enough to fill you up so that you can skip lunch !Great location to the train station. Good value for the dollar considering it is Norway. Room was perfectly set up with everything I needed and was exceptionally clean. Easy check in process, great communication by staff. No issues and would highly recommend to any traveller.
The hotel location is strategic, close to city center and most frequented attractions by public transportation or on feet.
The room bed was really extra comfortable. There is a bar next to the breakfast area which opens the afternoon. Gathering there at night time is really quite and air conditioned.
Again thanks for the entire stuff assisting me during my stay
This hotel is awesome. I had such a great stay. The hotel was located perfectly in the city center so all good and shopping was within walking distance. The design and architecture was so beautiful. The breakfast was extremely satisfying. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When I come back to Norway I will be staying here again.
The staff were helpful and were kind enough to pack breakfast for me as i had an early morning flight. The room offered a splendid view of the city. Centrally located. The airport shuttle stops right in front of the hotel. A 10 minute walk from the city centre.
Location of the hotel was very good, near train station and tram is just in front of the building. There are two cafes in the same building where you can have breakfast. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds.
Self check-in.
The hotel is in the city center and very close to the train station. We could walk to the main street, to the Munch museum and other places of interest. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Room was spacious enough.
The hotel has a great location, next to Oslo central station and various shopping malls. It is also a close walk to the city centre and Opera house. The room is quite big and comfortable, super clean.
The hotel is located near to the bus stop and Metro. Easily accessible to city center within few minutes.
The room is big and clean. Checkin process is via kiosk easy and fast.
Great Digital check in, no staff. Room was comfortable.
Parking available beneath hotel for extra charge, but can’t be reserved in advance.
