The loaction of this hotel was perfect. Right on the street where all the bars and restaurants are, and not far of a walk to the harbour where I could go on the Boat Tours. Had a great view of the Hallgrimskirkta church tower as well. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is very conveniently located and has a free parking garage, the beds are super comfortable and the included breakfast buffet was very good.
Downtown Reykjavik is full of life, joy and culture, so it can be noisy at night. We recommend enjoying the live music at the bar downstairs, which will stop at 11 in the night.

I was so impressed by the spaciousness of the room. The views were beautiful from the room's balcony. The bedding was very high quality and comfortable. Bathroom and shower were great. Everything felt very clean. Access to the building was very easy, but secure. The location is excellent - super central and great for walking. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy it all!

Only a small city and easy to get round in a day. Excursions outside of the city that involve coach transport are, like everything else in Reykjavik, eye-wateringly expensive. The norm seems to be to hire a car which provides a signififcant cost saving. That's probably fine in the Summer but in February, when it's snowing heavily most of the time that isn't an attractive proposition. Make use of Happy Hour which runs from about 5pm to around 8pm. Beer prices are around half price then. Although that's still about £6.00 a pint. It is expensive but you know that before you go so there's no point moaning. 3 days was good, 4 would have been better. Choose a hotel as close to the centre as you can and one which is close to a collection/drop off point for coach transport if you don't fancy hiring a car. The buses have designated pick up points and if your accomodation isn't near one it can be a long walk. Use public transport for airport transfers (both ways) taxis are about £140.00 each way. The buses are approx £40.00. It's a brilliant and beautiful city, with friendly helpful locals. You might even see the Northern Lights. We didn't, due to the blizzards, but I'm assured they are there.

Nice town
Nice town
But, a lot of fast food .. burgers and fries or fish and fries.. not so many nice restaurants to visit.
The prices versus the food do not meet expectations!
6 dollars for a coffee, 250 dollars for a taxi ride early in the morning, or fish and fries for 20 to 25 dollars .. way too much for what you get.
If you have and disabilities beware some of the trails you will have a hard time since they are wet and rock or dirt,

Great short vacation. Very picturesque and suggest renting a car to see it all. Enjoyed the lagoons and the nature sightseeing . Food was very very expensive. Downtown area is good for walking through.

It's a perfect destination for female solo travelers.
It's a perfect destination for female solo travelers. The city is so safe and welcoming. Even outside the city, I felt so safe. Iceland is a little pricey, but there are many ways to maximize your trip without breaking bank. Shopping at grocery stores or at the 10-11. Guided tours are so helpful if you don't plan on driving. However if you are comfortable driving in all seasons (Iceland weather changes very drastically), I'd sent rent a car, buy wifi, and go adventuring. It's virtually impossible to get lost in Iceland, plus the views are worth the risk.

a small town, quiet and calm. very easy to get around, do not need any transportation, just by walking. could rain, snow and be sunny on the same day. One full day would be enough for Reykjavik. definitely join different tours to travel around Iceland. It was eye-opening! :)

Takes a couple of days to get used to Iceland and Reykjavík...
Takes a couple of days to get used to Iceland and Reykjavík because its so different but then you start to appreciate its beauty and the vibe down town Raykjavik. Very ‘chilled out’ and an excellent place to walk around and eat and drink. Plenty of attractions to visit. You just need to remember that its not a cheap place to go. Expect to pay over £10 for a pint of beer or glass of wine. ( if you are reading this from London, you might think this is not expensive ! ) Having said that, we would love to visit again. The people are lovely and most speak good English.
I loved this hotels location, walked to the center downtown within 5 mins. I ended up with a corner room on 7th floor, so was able to look out over the Harpa Concert Center and the bay, it was beautiful. The bed was probably the best one on my week long trip and was finally able to have a good nights rest. The ladies at the front desk were awesome and so friendly. The Sky Bar and Restaurant on the top floor had an amazing view, the breakfast was included in my room rental and omg well worth it!!
Well located in downtown Reykjavik, only a couple of blocks to main street, many restaurants and shopping opportunities. Breakfast a great option, room was a little small, our call it cozy, but not unusual for European hotels. We checked out at noon, but our plane didn't leave until 8. They let us store our luggage there, while we went to Perlan for a couple of hours. Then helped us with luggage and worked to provide the best taxi accommodation and transport to the airport.
Lovely, welcoming and helpful staff. Our room was spacious, airy and very comfortable. Large bathroom, great walk in shower, and a nice range of toiletries. Breakfast was simple but still provided a nice choice. The hotel was easy to reach from the airport, plenty of parking space, and whilst not central we had an easy walk into downtown Reykjavik to go out in the evening. All in all a great start to our round trip of Iceland.
Hostel is located in the city centre of Reykjavik but still has large free car park. It’s very clean and has all the possible facilities: shared spaces like bar and good kitchen with option to make food, saving some money. Bed and room itself were fine, nice and clean, with good WiFi and charging station next to the bed. If you’re looking for a relatively cheap place to stay, this hostel is probably the best option.
The room was perfect and location was great! Room had an espresso machine, comfy bed, two windows, heat, a TV, and they provided converters for US plugs which none of the other places I stayed in Iceland had. It was easy to walk to downtown Reykjavik from the guesthouse, but far enough out of the main drag that there was always parking in front. The bathroom was modern and comfy bathrobes were a nice touch.
We recently stays there when we visited Iceland. It was perfect. It was easy to get to from the airport and easy to get to downtown Reykjavik. A special praise for Olga at the front desk. She gave us some very good advice about where to park in Reykjavik. It made visiting Reykjavik easy and saved us a lot of money. She also pointed out places to see on the map. We really appreciated her help.
Great place to stay near downtown Reykjavik. Plenty of free parking next to the building. The room had everything we needed. Even though there wasn't a microwave or oven in the room they had a microwave downstairs on the first floor in addition to toasters and an espresso maker. The bathroom is spacious. Beds were cozy. Overall the place has a modern design feel to it.
The 201 Hotel was a clean and comfortable place to stay during our time in Reykjavik. It is a little way out of the city centre but we had a car so didn't find it too inconvenient as there was plenty of parking at the hotel. It was also reasonably priced alongside the other properties we looked at for our stay.
The breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
Very pretty and modern hotel in a convenient location, close to restaurants and shops in downtown Reykjavik. We loved our stay. The staff were very kind and accommodating. Our room was super clean and extremely comfortable. While we didn't use the onsite gym and spa, they looked like wonderful facilities to use. Highly recommend!
it’s a good place to stay, good price, nice staff. it’s not downtown, so if you rent a car while staying in Reykjavík, you will have no trouble going around the city. otherwise will you have to pay taxi to go out and that’s pretty expensive, do yourself a favor a rent a car it’s the best way to explore Iceland!
The best place to stay in Reykjavik. The hotel is in the hearth of the city and close to many restaurants, shops and bus stops. The staff is really friendly and always available. We also had an update of the room without extra charge. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and shower.
A cute little hotel, in the center, of Reykjavík city. With good beds, nice showers, and a kitchenette. About 2 minutes away, there’s a cheap supermarket. Just a 1 minute walk, to “Hlemmur” bus stop. And “Laugavegur” Main Street, is right next to it, leading to the oldest part of town.
The apartment is perfect in every way, the location is excellent, the kitchen is well equipped, the bed is comfy and it has a great ambience. We would recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to stay in Reykjavik and much preferred it to a hotel.
This 3 bed room apartment is perfect for 4 of us, it is very clean, quiet, comfy with everything we need. The location is very convenient that is close to the bus terminal to the Airport, and also to downtown of Reykjavik, all in walking distance.
Front desk personnel were very helpful, the room was comfortable and beautiful, the food was great--we loved this hotel! Easy walking distance to downtown Reykjavik. We'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Iceland.
Quite downtown. On Laugavegur. That says it all. But a little bit away from All the bars so it's a good thing. Lovely rooms with baldachin beds. Quite a ceremony for a quite cheap hotel considering we are in Iceland.
Great location, very good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff and reasonably comfortable room. Many attractions and restaurants near the hotel and easy to walk to downtown center. Bus stop very close.
Good quality for hostel. Cheap for Iceland/Reykjavik with very convenient (central) location. Finally decided to stay twice - the first and the last day of our stay in Iceland.
