This is walking distance from the bus station. However, if you have luggage, you'll be dragging it to 6-10 mins to the hotel. It might be hard if you come during winter. It is near the old town and a supermarket. The buffet breakfast with all those cheese are the best.
Quality Hotel Ålesund is centrally located in the popular Skansekaia Harbor area, overlooking the sea and surrounding islands. It offers a private quay and rooms with free WiFi.

I loved that it wasn't very big, yet there was plenty to do there, and it was beautiful as well. I really enjoyed hiking up around the Aksla. There were plenty of excursions that could be done from there, and the scenery was gorgeous. It was very easy getting around the town, whether on fun or via public transportation, and it was relaxing.

Alesund is very beautiful seen from above so make sure you go to Aksla viewpoint where you arrive.
You will love the city if you love the Art Nouveau style.
I am not a fan of this type of architecture so I was not amazed by the city while I was walking in. There is a bit of lack of life and it's very quiet.
However, the landscapes and the nature all around the city is absolutly stunning so this is a great reason to visit this town.

Great city to end my trip around the famous Norwegian Fjords. Clean and walkable city center. Don’t miss out on the 400 steps to the view point above the park. A few restaurants to choose from. Visit the Ålesund aquarium and take a stroll around the old harbor area.

Alesund is a nice town, with much to see. We only thought that there wasn't a lot to do in the evening. For excursions there is plenty of possibilities. Two days is enough for me. Nice that we have seen this.

We were there too late in the season to do the things we wanted to do. The fjord trip was great, but I was hoping to get to Geiranger and Trollsteigen. A pretty place, but not much to see or do in October.

Ålesund is not a nice stay for people who enjoy nature.
Ålesund is not a nice stay for people who enjoy nature. We did the walk to the summit but that was all we enjoyed. So glad we did not stay two nights. It’s a very strange place with few places to eat.
Great location, easy walk from the port (we arrived by fjord boat from Geiranger), harbor (where we caught the Vy bus to Alesund (Vigra) Airport and pedestrian zone. The room was clean and quiet. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet was well stocked with a large variety of hot and cold choices. We were able to store our luggage after checkout which was helpful, so we could walk around the area before catching the bus. The staff was friendly and informative.
Very clean and close to the city center apartment. Self check-in available as there is a locker on the main door. However we were waited by Kristian at the property who let us in and show us everything. Property has an open room with a fully functional kitchen and an extensible sofa bed. The sofa bed is very comfortable as it has a proper mattress. There is also a washing machine at the property. Bed linen and towels are included which is a rare for Norway.
this is a wonderful hotel! well-located, super nice staff, spotless modern facilities, excellent breakfast. they go out of their way to accommodate. Free tea and coffee available all day long, and you can stay in their lounge all day while waiting for the evening departure of the Hurtigruten boat if you need to. I do a LOT of traveling, and generally stay in 3 star facilities. Noreg exceeds in the category.
10 out of 10! Both, Hosts as well as accommodation were the highlights of our trip in Norway so far. We thoroughly recommend staying there if you are nearby. We have never felt more welcomed and at home in all of Norway. The island is beautiful, lots of nature and birds and walks. We’ll probably back soon!
This is a stunning 6th-floor luxury penthouse apartment overlooking Alesund’s Art Nouveau Old Town. There is an outdoor terrace attached to the stylish living room offering sunset views. There’s a fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, induction cooktop and every culinary item you could need.
We loved staying here in the old barn! So roomy and cozy! We loved the big kitchen and the den downstairs. So nice to be able to spread out. Location was perfect for us, being out of the way but not far from Alesund. Would book here again for sure! Also the host was so very helpful!
This hotel is located conveniently for restaurants and for fjord tours from Ålesund. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. The bar had a particularly good ambience. Our room was very comfortable and clean.
The apartment was very well equipped with all essential items on bathroom, laundry room and kitchen for use them.
Spacious bedrooms with big and confortable beds.
Close to the center and shops.
Free parking is a plus in Alesund.
Linda’s house is conveniently located just outside Aalesund, and has too many great features for one review). We liked before all her attitude (as arrived late), private parking spot, spacious bedrooms, and of course the sauna.
The house is big with good view of Alesund. Nice house and good kitchen. Free wifi and netflix. Easy to check in and out. Just collect the key at the right place. follow the instructions given in the message. free car parking.
Wonderfully updated historic hotel, with old beams and character retained. Nice, but not spacious rooms with water view.
Very impressive and welcoming fireplace downstairs lounge with chimney rising up 3 stories.
Fab hotel right on the quayside in Alesund. Stones throw from lots local restaurants and lots walking opportunities nearby. An amazing breakfast far outweighs what looks like a standard hotel
Excellent location in the heart of historical Ålesund; safe and comfortable lodging with all the amenities we needed; warm, welcoming and very helpful host; flexible and easy check-in.
Very good breakfast.
Nice place to stay, clean.
Very helpful and polite staff.
If I visited Alesund again, I would choose Quality Hotel Waterfront to stay.
