Room was very cozy. Loved the public bath. Great for relaxing after snowboarding all day. Sink and toilets were close to the room. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Closeness to station. Super friendly staff that gave me ton of Information and tips. I would definitely without a doubt stay here again if I make my way back to yuzawa in the future.

It was difficult to find a restaurant in the area for dinner, but we finally found one in a neighboring town (Shiozawa). There is a well-stocked supermarket and many pharmacies for daily needs. We enjoyed spring skiing at Kagura and want to go back during the winter season when there is more snow. It's better to have your own car to get around the area.

A ski resort town just an hour away from Tokyo, the bus terminal side of the station got a good old Japanese vide to it, and the back is more tourist centric, the closest resorts, gala, and Kogen is smaller than expected with crowed narrow runs, but with a 20 mins bus ride you can get to kagura, which is a bit old but with wide and good runs of all difficulty, and you don’t need to wait for any lift

I go to Yuzawa during winter.
I go to Yuzawa during winter. Naeba is my go-to place for snowboarding. It has excellent slopes for beginners, and also some tight curves for the more advanced. It's a little village, public transport is reliable but not frequent; so make sure to check the time table.

Breakfast was great.
Breakfast was great. Japanese style breakfast with many choices to choose from. The only thing I didn't like was the futon style beds on the floor. I just had knee surgery in March and getting off the floor in the morning was difficult. Staff very friendly and spoke english.

Excellent visit.
Excellent visit. New finds were a) spaghetti restaurant within station called Uonuma Italian Grill & Dining. Best spaghetti I've ever recall having b) electric-assisted bikes for rent next to station. Critical given the hills in the area. And priced very reasonably. I was able to tour the town for the first time.
Great location near Mitsumata ropeway and bus stop. Restaurant and souvenir shop is 7 minute walk away. Layout was good, the ski room, bath and luggage room were close to each other. Discount lift ticket vouchers were available from the front desk. The welcome email from the hotel was very informative, bus timetables and taxi phone number was easily accessible from the front desk.
Great hotel right on the ski slope. An older style hotel and a little empty, but it was lovely nonetheless. We will happily be returning here next year. Large outdoor onsen and great breakfast every morning. I the staff were very friendly and shuttle was always able to take us into town. Our room was enormous by Japanese standards and view of the beginners ski run was great.
The staff were so helpful, nothing was too big or small for them to do and the owner came to wish everyone goodbye. I didn’t try the restaurant or the public onsens but the room with the private onsen was so so big, comfortable with many amenities and snacks. It’s a short walk to the station and in the snow the hotel staff will drive you anywhere as part of the service.
This place is gorgeous!!!! So quiet and relaxing!! Excellent building reno with modern Scandinavian vibe, comfy bed with three pillows (yay!) spotless, fabulous French food, fun rock music bar, very helpful staff, convenient shuttle from train station, spectacular onsen (one of the most scenic views that I have seen). My husband and I had a fantastic time.
The location was perfect. Close enough to all the town has to offer, and located at the quiet side of the station.
Room was spotless, and perfect to come back for a rest after a day of skiing. Bus station is just 2 mins walk away and that allows access to all the ski resorts. They even had lockers near the entrance to store my ski equipment.
This was our first time skiing, and we enjoyed a comfortable stay at Yuzawa Hotel during it. The room was huge, and we were left uninterrupted throughout - which suits us.
The baths were a highlight of this hotel, with a bookable private rotenburo bath it's perfect for soaking away the fatigue after a day of skiing.
+ Free shuttle bus from/to Echigo Yuzawa station (Note: at scheduled timetable only)
+ Rental of snowboard/ski equipment and gondola ticket at lower price than counterparts
+ Fair selection of japanese and western style for breakfast
+ Staff are helpful to call taxi and arrange shuttle bus to Ski Resort
The staff are very kind and helpful. They lent us snow boots to go out because our shoes where not good for heavy snowing days. We could buy discounted ski pass for Ishiuchi directly at the hotel. They have a shuttle bus service which is very convenient. It is in front of Kogen lift.
The room is clean. The host is very nice. The location is opposite to the Yuzawa Kogen ski resort. If getting the bus from Gala Yuzawa, just find the route that will pass Yuzawa Kogen and tell the bus driver. Share bathroom is not the problem. Recommend to stay here.
Good value. Staff very helpful and nice. The public onsen in hotel was spacious and nice. Rooms are simple and clean. We stayed in the Japanese tatami room. Shuttle to Gala Yuzawa Ski resort stops in front of hotel. Line up early as the shuttle can fill up fast.
The staff at this hotel were absolutely superb and extremely helpful carrying luggage and ski gear etc. Absolutely loved the onsen every day and also appreciated the complimentary Shamisen performance one evening. Bus service to town also very good.
The location was fantastic with ski rental and slope access from hotel. The rooms were large and we liked the entrance separation and bathroom set up. The breakfast buffet was great even our picky kids found food to eat - definitely worth it!
very good onsen facilities (2 floors of onsen with different baths available) . Location near to train station. Food options wise might be a little limited late at night near the hotel. Hotel is best visited during the winter?
