We liked that this property had very clean and quiet facilities. It was a great traditional experience with a friendly staff member and everything needed. We liked that their was parking available for an additional 800 yen. Some places out in town were more expensive. There was a Lawson across the street which was convenient. The room was comfortable and it was nice having towels to use at the Onsen.

The town is really cute with lots of great shops and the onsen at the hotel was super relaxing. There were a lot of children at the public onsen so we decided to skip most of them and felt the one night we stayed was enough

Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town.

Kinosaki Onsen is such a charming town. After spending a week running around cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, it was nice to unwind in a small town that was very self-contained but also had some nice outdoor activities like exploring Mt. Daishi, in addition to the 7 public baths.

If you love onsens and seafood, this is the perfect place to go unwind and dine. Kinosaki Onsen is a small, photogenic town that feels more like a neighborhood. There are many kinds of restaurants, but especially crab seems to be the hit here, with shops that sell them right out on the street. Tip: a few websites offer real-time percentages of how busy any onsen in the area is.

This ryokan is beyond my expectations. They have more than every thing. Their hospitality was so impressive. The food was excellent which served in private room. Strongly recommend for to anyone who is looking a best experience in kinosaki onsen.

we stayed at Yamamotoya Ryokan, Kinosaki Onsen for one night...

we stayed at Yamamotoya Ryokan, Kinosaki Onsen for one night which was too short. overall Kinosaki Onsen is a gem of a village. It is picture perfect and with lots of "protected" traditional Japanese wooden frame homes. You travel back in time ! old houses, people on yukatas and clogs, a small stream passes thru the middle of town with willow trees. few vehicles and few locals on roads, a typical tourist village. The best time to enjoy the atmosphere and ambience - dusk. Esp with the street lights and lights from the roadside buildings My Ryokan is fantatstic - we visited during shoulder season and prices were great. Will come again in autumm 2024. there are extra costs to be paid for public onsen but well worth. Tried 4 public onsen which was awesome - cave onsen, outdoor onsen facing a mountain stream, outdoor onsen. The morning public bath was less busy with few users while the evening baths was very busy, My choice of onsen was Gohsonronyu, outdoor facing a trees and mountain stream and the cave onsen. kinosaki is technically an ONSEN village. we dropped our luggage to be delivered to hotel opposite the train station. went exploring the village and used the cable car to offer prayers to the village onsen guardian. everywhere is within walking distance

Kinosaki is a wonderful place to be in.

Kinosaki is a wonderful place to be in. However, it can get a bit touristy during some months. We went in September which is considered the low season, yet we felt that there were too many people around. However =, it is still the best onsen town in the Kansai region.

The kaiseki dinners were excellent. The breakfasts were also very good and a great introduction to authentic Japanese cuisine. We enjoyed that there were 3 private Onsen at the hotel so we could Onsen together. The location was great, an easy walk to the station and all of the public Onsen were also within walking distance. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, especially Peco who guided us through the Kaiseki dinner with a smile. Note there is no elevator, but the staff carried our luggage up to our room on the 3rd floor.

Everything about this Ryokan was inviting and superb. The private baths were unique, and our tatami mat room with futons was stylish and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful - Takayuki (hotel manager) went out of his way to make sure our stay was excellent. He took many photos of us while dressed in kimono, and even met us at the train station to drop off our luggage since we had about an hour and half between check out and our train departure. I would recommend Morizuya to anyone and hope to come back some day!!

After staying in both chain and independent hostels in Japan, and elsewhere in the world, I have to say this was my favourite hostel experience. It truly felt like my friend and I had just been invited to a family member's home to stay for the night. It was such a lovely and cozy experience! The decor is whimsical, the kitchen is well-stocked, the showers and facilities are fantastic, and the room we stayed in was tatami and lovely. Whenever I am in the Toyooka area again, I will be returning to stay at Hostel Act :)

EVERYTHING !!! The hotel is very very clean. The Onsen inside the hotel is FANTASTIC !!! Very private and super comfortable. No need to visit the 7 public onsens at all (unless you wanted to try out and compare) The breakfast was so nice and a big spread of food. The staff, including the front desk personnel, the restaurant staff and the important driver. Best of the best staff around. Very polite and extremely thoughtful !! Very good hotel and definitely recommend to anyone who wanted to visit Kinosaki.

Great breakfast was provided, and the staff are super nice even if there's a language barrier. It's a bit of a distance from the Onsen town but the staff picked us up from the train station and brought us to the hotel, then dropped us back off at the Onsen town with a pickup time and location to meet them when it was time to leave. They even loaned us umbrellas due to the rain. If you're on a budget but want to go to Kinosakionsen town and have a nice stay you can't do much better than this

The rooms and facilities are exquisite. Top of the end hotel feel and amazing service. We adored our room and felt like it was the most elegant space weve ever been in. The art is also phenomenal! The meals felt very classic Japanese. I would have preferred to experience a restaurant in town instead especially since we were placed in a room with two coughing, sick individuals for both meals :(. We loved all the staff and are so appreciative to them!

A traditional Ryokan with update facilities. Great breakfast and dinner, one of the best I have tried from the onsen hotels. Staff are great, they are all proactive in offering us assistance and help at the most appropriate time even we haven't asked for it. Special thanks to the young cheerful lady who briefed us facilities of the hotel and served us dinner is their star performer and made our stay much enjoyable.

Great location overlooking beach, with the sound of waves crashing all night (there is a road between hotel and beach). Staff were lovely. Dinner was a fascinating selection of local treats. Perfect little onsen on the ground floor. Free transfers to and from the station. Be advised, if you are coming by train make sure you are in the front carriage, as only these doors will open at Takeno.

Ryokan Tsubakino location is almost central towards the Kinosaki Onsen district but yet still hidden in the quiet side of the whole town area, which made it a perfect location to stay. With its central point, walking to the town's famous onsens are manageable. Food provided by the hotel, Breakfast and Dinner Kaiseki Menu were superb and very fresh as well, thoroughly replenished our day.

The location very near the train station was great. The ryokan was very clean, and the meals and onsen etiquette were explained well at check in. The dinner in room was great, and the hotel staff were so kind despite speaking little English. The private onsen was also nice. They did a very nice job helping to accommodate for my wife who is pregnant at the time of our stay.

The location of the hotel is next to the forest. Suitable for relaxation that requires peace from nature surrounding . The size of the hotel is quite large and new. Can walk to see in the pedestrian area not very far. Alternatively, you can use the hotel's shuttle bus service. The hotel has a very good spa service and has its own private hot spring. On site Onsen is perfect as less crowded that visiting one of the 7 in central town. Breakfast was great and wish we had booked dinner previous night. Hotel staff make your bed of an evening so be mindful of this. Hotel offers courtesy bus to/from town, dropping you off wherever you need to go. We only used this facility once as it only takes 15 mins to walk anyway.

The ryokan is in the center of the city The room was big and cosy. But most important was the owner, so welcoming, organizing a tea ceremony with is mom, driving you to the station, always there to help. The kimono that you can use are also beautiful. The bath in the hotel are great and I add a delicious traditional breakfast. I loved every moment there.

Excellent hotel with great amenities -- like the Lounge with free coffee, beer and snacks open much of the day. Free massage chairs adjacent to the well designed lobby with a river view. It is about a 5 minute walk in to the town. The onsens are well appointed with various shampoos, lotions, razors, etc. Excellent selection at breakfast and dinner buffets.
