Well organised ski resort, good range of slopes for intermediate skills. The on-site food options were ok, but the restaurants outside the resort (all located in one street nearby) were much better, delicious and good value. Need to book in advance as they are all quite small.

The Westin was fabulous in a beautiful location.
The Westin was fabulous in a beautiful location. The rooms were very comfortable with great views of the snow and mountains. There were a lot of shops, which were a short monorail ride from our hotel. The food at the Atrium restaurant was delicious including the breakfast and dinner buffetts. The food at the Japanese restaurant was superb if you are looking for a special night out.

One of the best stays I have had in years!
One of the best stays I have had in years! The facility is amazing, you can't compare the residence stay with anything else you will find in Japan. Whether, groups of friends, couples, or families this is the best you will find.
Staff was professional and extremely helpful.
If you are a foreigner then, I would recommend no other place in Hokkaido.

The ski resort itself is full of all sorts of activities for families. The hotels at the resort are very expensive but have all the required facilities. There wasn't to many other options in the town itself to stay. Just enough snow this trip as season hasn't been up to normal.

This was my first visit to Rusutsu.
This was my first visit to Rusutsu. Residential areas a bit spread out from the snow fields unless staying in one of the big hotels, and options for food and entertainment limited, but fantastic slopes with plenty of options for both piste and off-piste, wonderful long groomers and nice bits of forest to enjoy.

Rusutsu has better skiing than Niseko due to less crowds.
Rusutsu has better skiing than Niseko due to less crowds. There is also more snow. The area is developing and there are a decent selection of restaurants to choose from. We prefer it to the crowds of Niseko.
Hands down the best host! Best accommodation. House and rooms are all clean. Bathroom and bathroom necessities are all provided. Even have a locker room for all your snowboarding and skiing equipments. All you need in a house is there. Very delicious breakfast. Short walking distance from the center. The host also makes sure that we’re comfortable not just with our stay but our overall experience at Rusutsu. Will always stay here whenever we’re in Rusutsu.
We loved our stay at Clydesdale. Morii and his team were so welcoming and have a beautiful, comfortable property. It is immaculately clean and is in a wonderful location. We particularly loved the daily breakfasts that were served with lots of care and attention as well as the shower rooms - perfect way to relax after a day of skiing. We will certainly be going back and I would recommend to anyone looking to stay within close proximity to Rusutsu Resort.
The property (As a solo traveller) is perfect, in comparison to nearby accommodation it is affordable, the staff are amazing and super friendly. The facilities for washing are a bit lacking but you can always use the resort facilities as a stop gap. Otherwise for the price and location of YOUTEI I would recommend it for anyway who would like to stay in Rusutsu for a longer period of time for a price that isn’t excessive.
Very comfortable beds and excellent communication/services for a small bed and breakfast. A short 3-4 min drive to the village restaurants and ski resort and back whenever we requested a ride. The snow globe room was warm (even in very cold temps outside) and definitely large enough for 3 dudes plus all our snowboard bags. We all slept really well. Very kind and welcoming host and staff.
The hosts were amazing and made the experience even better than expected. The breakfast was fantastic and I really enjoyed spending time with the hosts in the evening, learning about their culture and why they chose to host in Rusutsu. I would highly recommend staying at the Ohisama house if you plan to stay in Rusutsu.
3 minutes drive from ski slope beats everything else. The house is warm, clean and comfortable. It's really nice used as a skiing base. Kitchen is a bit old but we didn't make dishes. Highly recommend the near-by Westin Hotel breakfast buffet, which is a bargain in year 2024.
Terrific location just a cross from the resort!
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Every meal was cooked with care and skill, so much so that it was the only place we ate. We wanted to try every dish, and they all impressed us!
Very close to ski resort. 2 rooms with 2 beds (twin or double bed) and 1 room with 4 bunk bed. spacious lower floor for storage and dry room for skis. upper floor is spacious for kitchen and living room as well. Good for up to 8 people.
the house is spacious and very comfortable for us a group of 8. is all very new and has 3 shower rooms so very convenient for a big group. all smooth with the hosts too. about 10mins walk to the rusutsu resort hotel/lift.
The hotel room is amazing. Onsen is even more amazing. The staff are great helping you out wherever needed. Even holding my ski bags for a few days before sending them down to Haneda Airport for my trip home.
We booked 4 hostel beds and ended up being in a room with 4 bunk beds - so it was like a private room, which was awesome. Good izakaya downstairs. Probably the cheapest place to stay in Rusutsu.
Location. It's not too far from the ski resort. Very quiet surrounding. Big kitchen and dinning room. Convenient for cooking and eating. Sizeable bedroom. Free parking.
Private country home With large open plan, dining , kitchen and lounge area magical location, overlooking Mount Yotei and only a 10 minute drive to Rusutsu ski Field
